Today, I am reflecting on the role of men as leaders within the household. Leadership and headship involve the ability to provide vision and direction. This concept is illustrated by the fact that God has placed our eyes, ears, and nostrils in the head, signifying the responsibility of the head to create direction. For example, the reason why our eyes are not located on our lower body is to ensure that we are able to see when we are sitting. This analogy suggests that the head, as the seat of leadership, must also take responsibility for visioning and seeing into the future. This is the basis for the theme of “Designing the Future Faith for Tough Decisions.”
In our pursuit of designing the future, we are confronted with the need to make tough decisions.
This responsibility is not exclusive to men, as all individuals will encounter situations that require difficult choices. These decisions range from mundane choices to significant ones, and even the decision to postpone a decision is considered a decision in itself.
