RECIPE FOR GREATNESS SERIES 8- Shaped For Your Purpose

This morning, we are continuing our series “Called To Serve” with a message titled “You’re Shaped for God’s Glory.” The focus of today’s message is on the idea that each individual is shaped for a specific assignment. We are encouraged to share this message with those around us, to remind them that they are shaped for a purpose. The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding how God has uniquely shaped each person for their assignment, both physically and spiritually. The audience is invited to join in examining their own shape and how it relates to their assignment.

Reading from Psalm 139, specifically verses 13 to 17 from the New King James Version. The passage highlights the idea that God has been intimately involved in the formation of each individual. Drawing particular attention to verse 14, which emphasizes the wonderful and fearfully made nature of each person. Additionally, verse 15 is highlighted, emphasizing that God was present even in the earliest stages of formation, when the individual was still unformed. The speaker emphasizes the idea that God’s thoughts and involvement in the creation of each person are precious and significant.

The message is that each person is wonderfully complex and uniquely shaped by God for a specific assignment. The emphasis is on recognizing the divine involvement in the formation of each individual, both physically and spiritually. The audience is encouraged to reflect on the idea that they are shaped for a purpose and to consider how God has been intricately involved in their formation. The overall message is one of encouragement and affirmation, reminding each person of their unique value and purpose in the eyes of God.

The text emphasizes the deliberate and intricate way in which God created each individual, tailoring them specifically for their unique assignments. It highlights the importance of recognizing and utilizing the gifts and abilities that God has placed within us to serve Him effectively. In Exodus Chapter 4, Moses expresses his doubts about his own abilities, but God reassures him that He is the one who has equipped him for his task. This passage serves as a reminder that God’s power and presence will enable us to fulfill our calling.

Despite God’s assurance, Moses continues to doubt his own capabilities, asking God to send someone else in his place. This response angers God, underscoring the importance of trusting in His plan and believing in the abilities He has bestowed upon us. The passage from Isaiah Chapter 43 further emphasizes that God has shaped each individual for a specific purpose, one that involves proclaiming His praises. It is crucial for individuals to align themselves with God’s will and embrace the unique qualities that make them suitable for their assigned tasks.

The concept of SHAPE, as discussed in the text, serves as a framework for understanding how God has uniquely designed each person for their calling. This acronym stands for spiritual gifts, heart (passion), abilities, personality, and experiences, all of which contribute to shaping an individual’s readiness to fulfill their purpose. By recognizing and embracing these aspects of oneself, individuals can better understand how God intends for them to serve Him and bring glory to His name. It is a call to self-reflection and a reminder of the importance of aligning one’s life with God’s divine plan.

The concept of spiritual gifts is a significant aspect of understanding one’s purpose and role in the world. When we delve into the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 139, we come to realize that God has intricately designed each individual, ensuring that no detail is left to chance. The spiritual gifts bestowed upon us are not random occurrences but rather intentional endowments from the Holy Spirit. It is crucial to comprehend that these gifts are not earned through actions or merits but are freely given by the grace of God.

In today’s society, the true essence of a gift has been somewhat distorted by societal norms and expectations. Often, gifts are associated with rewards or acknowledgments for specific actions or favors rendered. However, spiritual gifts, as mentioned in the Bible, are not based on deserving or earning but are divine blessings bestowed upon individuals according to the will of the Holy Spirit. It is essential to differentiate between worldly gifts, which are often tied to actions or achievements, and spiritual gifts, which are freely given by God without any prerequisites.

Spiritual gifts serve as a manifestation of God’s grace and are not indicators of one’s spiritual maturity or development.

These gifts are meant to be utilized for the greater good and to fulfill the purpose that God has ordained for each individual. While it is possible to stir up these gifts within oneself, it is crucial to acknowledge that the source of these gifts is the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is imperative to approach spiritual gifts with humility and gratitude, recognizing that they are divine endowments that are meant to be used in accordance with God’s will and for the betterment of humanity.

An unopened gift is essentially worthless, as it holds no value until it is opened and utilized. Similarly, as Christians, we must be open to receiving the gifts that the Father, the Spirit of God, wants to manifest through us. These gifts are meant to be blessings to others, not just for our own benefit. It is crucial to position ourselves in a way that allows these gifts to be manifested and utilized for the greater good.

Spiritual gifts are not given to us for our own selfish desires, but rather for the benefit of others. As we freely receive these gifts from God, we are called to freely give and minister to those within the body of Christ. Our unique emotional heartbeat, which represents the center of our motivation and passion, plays a vital role in how we serve God and humanity. Without passion, our lives may lead to waste, as passion drives us to live a life of significance.

Discovering our passion and aligning it with our life assignment is crucial for living a fulfilling and purposeful life. Many individuals struggle in their careers because they lack passion for what they do, often working solely for monetary gain. It is important to identify what truly ignites our hearts and makes us come alive, as this is where our life assignment lies. By recognizing and embracing our passion, we can serve others, fulfill our calling, and make a meaningful impact in the world around us.

It is possible that you possess a strong desire to transport people, and if this is the case, it is crucial that you take action. This passion goes beyond monetary gain; it is about making a positive impact on others. Unfortunately, not many individuals have this kind of passion, and as a result, many people continue to face difficulties. It can be frustrating when others do not comprehend the importance of your passion, especially when it involves helping children who are in need. By acting on your passion for children, you have the ability to make a significant difference in their lives, providing them with opportunities they may not have otherwise had.

Your passion is unique to you, and there are certain things that only you can do to address the needs of others. It is possible that some of the activities you engage in, such as serving God, are done without expecting any financial compensation. However, pursuing your passion can lead to unexpected opportunities and financial rewards. Your passion has the power to open doors for you, allowing you to excel in ways that align with your natural abilities and talents. By focusing on what you are passionate about, you may find that your efforts not only sustain you but also lead to financial stability.

Each individual possesses a set of abilities and natural talents that are inherent to them. These skills are often effortless to utilize, as they are part of one’s innate capabilities. These abilities, which are present from birth, are gifts from a higher power and are meant to be utilized for the greater good. Whether you excel in music, dance, art, technology, cooking, or any other area, it is essential to recognize and harness these talents. By embracing your unique abilities, you can fulfill your purpose and contribute positively to the world around you. Remember that God has equipped each person with special abilities, and it is up to you to utilize them to their fullest potential.

The most intriguing aspect of an individual is undoubtedly their personality.

It is a fundamental component of their being that remains constant from the moment they are born until the day they pass away. Changing someone’s personality is akin to shattering their spirit, as it is an integral part of who they are. For instance, if a person is naturally talkative, they will continue to be so throughout their life. This is evident when encountering an elderly individual who has been a talker since their youth, regaling others with stories from decades past. Despite being reprimanded for talking excessively in their early years, their talkative nature has persisted. As they mature, their conversations become more meaningful, but their core personality trait remains unchanged. Whether one is introverted or extroverted, their personality is a defining characteristic that endures, shaping their interactions and experiences.

As individuals grow and develop spiritually and physically, their personality evolves, allowing them to explore new ideas and concepts. This growth fosters creativity, leading to profound reflections and insights that can impact the lives of others. It is essential to recognize that each person’s personality is purposefully crafted by a higher power. Therefore, it is crucial to embrace one’s unique personality and the traits that accompany it. Ultimately, one’s personality is a gift from a higher power, bestowed upon them for a specific reason. In conclusion, it is imperative to acknowledge and appreciate the personality that has been bestowed upon each individual, as it serves a distinct purpose in their life.

In addition to personality, an individual’s experiences play a pivotal role in shaping their character. There are six primary types of experiences that significantly influence an individual’s development. The first of these is family experiences, which encompass the lessons and values learned while growing up. These experiences are orchestrated by a higher power, guiding individuals to the family that will best serve their life’s purpose. Each family provides unique opportunities for growth and learning, contributing to the individual’s overall development. It is essential to recognize the significance of these experiences and the impact they have on shaping an individual’s character and purpose in life.

There are individuals who express a strong dislike for their family members, claiming that they hate them. However, it is believed that God has placed them within their family for a reason, despite any negative feelings they may have. This is because there are valuable lessons to be learned and experiences to be gained from being a part of one’s family. It is suggested that the educational institutions one attends, or will attend, are divinely orchestrated by God. This is because there are specific individuals that one must encounter and events that must transpire in order to have a significant impact on their life. Furthermore, it is emphasized that one’s vocational experiences are of great importance, as they are part of God’s plan for shaping and utilizing an individual’s skills and talents.

The text also highlights the significance of spiritual experiences, such as serving in various capacities and growing spiritually. It is suggested that these experiences are purposefully orchestrated by God and play a crucial role in an individual’s personal and spiritual development. Additionally, the text acknowledges that painful and mysterious experiences, particularly those that occur within the family or at work, can be instrumental in shaping an individual’s character and faith. It is emphasized that God intends to use all of these experiences, including trials and temptations, to ultimately bless and minister to others.

The passage encourages individuals to recognize that their greatest ministry can emerge from their deepest hurts. It urges them not to disregard or overlook their painful experiences, but rather to share their stories and allow God to use their unique life experiences to positively impact others. The text emphasizes the importance of embracing one’s past and using it to shape a meaningful ministry that can benefit others who may be facing similar challenges. Ultimately, it encourages individuals to allow God to use their life experiences to shape and guide them in a way that can be a source of inspiration and support for others.
