HIGH POWERED – PART 2

The continuation of the message titled “High Powered” is set to unfold as we delve deeper into the teaching series “Sent,” which emphasizes the importance of recognizing that God is actively seeking individuals to send forth into various spheres of life. This divine calling extends to your home, neighborhood, workplace, and any projects you may be involved in. As an ambassador of heaven, you have been strategically placed in these environments, and it is essential to understand that God desires for you to fulfill your role within them. In a world increasingly shrouded in darkness, as described in Scripture, many individuals are straying from their faith, including those who once exhibited fervent devotion. This troubling trend is often accompanied by a myriad of justifications, yet it is precisely during such times that God aims to illuminate the path through you.

It is crucial to adopt the perspective of being a sent individual, as this mindset fosters a willingness to submit to God’s will and allows Him to work through you effectively. The empowerment that God provides to those He sends is significant; He equips them with the necessary resources to fulfill their mission. As highlighted in Philippians 1:19, the Apostle Paul speaks of the transformative power of prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, which serves as a high-powered enablement for believers. This divine supply elevates our capacity to operate at a higher frequency in Christ, yet many Christians today seem content with a passive approach to their faith, failing to recognize the urgency of their calling.

The confusion faced by many young people today is exacerbated by the multitude of distractions that vie for their attention. The Scripture instructs us to prioritize the kingdom of God and His righteousness, which transcends mere piety or the pursuit of holiness. While holiness is indeed commendable, it becomes ineffective if it is not accompanied by a sense of purpose and mission. To illustrate this point, consider a clean plate that remains unused; it serves no practical purpose. Similarly, holiness must be coupled with a readiness to be utilized by God in His work. Therefore, it is imperative to embrace holiness not as an end in itself, but as a qualification that prepares you for active service in the kingdom.

Many individuals attend church with a sense of self-assuredness, believing that their moral conduct and adherence to certain principles render them acceptable in the eyes of God. They may convince themselves that their actions, such as fidelity to their spouses and a general commitment to righteousness, signify that they are living rightly. However, this self-assessment can be misleading, as it does not necessarily equate to being actively engaged in God’s work or fulfilling His purpose. It is crucial to recognize that while one may appear to be morally upright, true spiritual fulfillment and usefulness in God’s service require more than mere self-justification; it demands a deeper commitment to being an instrument for divine purposes.

In this context, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit plays a vital role, particularly in the realm of soul-winning. The gifts bestowed by the Holy Spirit are not only intended to enhance the believer’s life but also to enable them to effectively reach out to others. This empowerment should manifest in tangible outcomes, both in daily living and in the mission of spreading the Gospel. It is essential for believers to understand that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant to be actively utilized, leading to significant results in their spiritual journey and in their efforts to bring others to faith.

As we delve into the teachings of the Apostle Paul, particularly in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, we find a clear admonition regarding spiritual gifts. Paul emphasizes the importance of being informed about these gifts, indicating that ignorance can exist even within a church community. His audience, the church at Corinth, was comprised of believers who needed to be enlightened about the spiritual gifts available to them. This highlights a critical point: the necessity for believers to seek knowledge and understanding of the gifts they possess, as this awareness is fundamental to their effectiveness in ministry and their overall spiritual growth.

The original Greek text addresses the topic of spiritual matters, emphasizing the importance of understanding these concepts. The term “gift” was introduced to provide clarity and context, as it derives from the Greek words “charisma” or “charismata,” which refer to the gifts bestowed by the Holy Spirit or the empowerment that comes from the Holy Spirit. The author is essentially conveying a message about the significance of spiritual phenomena and how God operates within the spiritual realm, urging the audience not to remain uninformed. This can be likened to a warning in the field of medicine, where one might mistakenly take paracetamol instead of the necessary antibiotics if they lack knowledge. The intent is to highlight the necessity of being informed about spiritual matters, encouraging individuals to engage with their understanding of the spirit.

The text further elaborates on the concept of spiritual gifts, stating that the Holy Spirit bestows a variety of gifts upon individuals. It is noted that while there are different types of gifts, they all originate from the same Spirit, indicating a unified source of empowerment. Additionally, the passage discusses the various ministries or services through which these gifts are administered, reinforcing the idea that although the manifestations may differ, they are all under the guidance of the same Lord. This underscores the diversity of spiritual expressions and the collaborative nature of the gifts, which are designed to work together for a common purpose.

The passage continues by highlighting the diversity of activities that arise from these spiritual gifts, affirming that it is the same God who orchestrates all these workings. Importantly, it states that the manifestation of the Spirit is granted to each individual, thereby including everyone in the community. This inclusivity serves to remind individuals that they are not excluded from the spiritual gifts and that these manifestations are intended for the benefit of all. The message encourages individuals to recognize their role within the spiritual framework and to understand that they, too, are recipients of the Spirit’s gifts, which are meant to contribute to the collective good of the community.

The analogy presented can be likened to the notion that while a car may be entrusted to an individual, its purpose extends beyond personal use to benefit the entire family. This concept emphasizes that although the car is in your possession, it serves the collective needs of your household. Similarly, the gifts of the Spirit are bestowed upon individuals not solely for their personal gain but for the enrichment and benefit of those around them. This implies that the individual will experience personal growth and fulfillment, while simultaneously contributing to the well-being of the community, thereby glorifying Jesus.

In verse 6, the scripture highlights the distribution of various gifts, indicating that each gift is given for a specific purpose. The passage enumerates these gifts, illustrating the diversity of spiritual endowments available to believers. For instance, the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge are both granted through the same Spirit, alongside other gifts such as faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, various tongues, and their interpretation. This diversity underscores the idea that while individuals may operate in different gifts, they all originate from the same divine source, emphasizing the unity of the Spirit in their distribution.

To conclude, the operation of these spiritual gifts is ultimately governed by the Holy Spirit, rather than by individual choice. It is essential for believers to position themselves to be instruments of the Spirit’s work, allowing these gifts to manifest through them. The final verse from 1 Corinthians 12:31 encourages believers to earnestly desire the most beneficial gifts, suggesting that while all gifts are valuable, certain situations may call for specific gifts to be more advantageous. This call to desire the most helpful gifts reinforces the idea that the gifts are not ranked in superiority but are to be sought after based on the needs of the moment.

To illustrate my point, I would like to present a specific example that highlights the importance of one of the gifts of the Spirit, particularly the gift of discernment. This gift, which I believe every business professional should earnestly seek, is crucial in navigating various situations. For instance, the third gift listed is the discernment of spirits. This ability is essential not only in our local context but also globally, whether one is situated in America, the UK, or elsewhere. The manifestation of this gift can serve as a protective measure against deceit and manipulation, ensuring that individuals are not easily misled or scammed.

Reflecting on my experiences in pastoral ministry, particularly during the formative years of this church, I recall the invaluable contributions of Pastor Tunde Usidame, who previously served as the resident pastor. Upon his return from London, he shared an encounter with a man who claimed to have lost his home to flooding, asserting that his children were left homeless. Initially, I advised him to remain calm and allow the individual to present his case. However, as the narrative unfolded, it became evident that this was not an isolated incident. Another individual approached us with a story about his wife, who had undergone a cesarean section, claiming that the hospital would not release his newborn twins unless he settled an escalating bill.

In response to this urgent plea, we decided to assist, but with the stipulation that the payment would be made directly to the hospital. We accompanied him to ensure transparency, only to discover that the hospital was located far from the initial claims. After a lengthy and frustrating journey, it became clear that the man had fabricated his story. This experience underscored the necessity of relying on divine guidance and discernment in our dealings, reinforcing my faith in God’s provision and wisdom. Such encounters have profoundly shaped my understanding of the importance of spiritual gifts in both personal and professional contexts.

When an individual engages in conversation with you, sharing their experiences, the Holy Spirit may communicate insights to you, often referred to in certain cultures as “oje marina,” which translates to a deceptive narrative or a tongue that speaks falsehoods. This divine guidance allows you to discern the truth behind the words being spoken, revealing that the individual may not be entirely honest. The Holy Spirit may also indicate the presence of a familiar spirit influencing the person’s life, providing you with the understanding that addressing this spiritual entity could lead to a resolution of the issues at hand. Rather than resorting to generic prayers, one should focus on directly confronting the spirit, which can lead to a swift conclusion of the troubling situation.

In the context of significant financial dealings, whether in naira or dollars, it is imperative to seek divine guidance. The attention of business professionals is often drawn to the spiritual insights that can be provided, as they may seek blessings or clarity in their ventures. The process of receiving such insights is rooted in the biblical principle of earnestly desiring a relationship with the Holy Spirit, who is the source of these gifts. It is essential to cultivate this desire, as the Holy Spirit manifests various gifts that can be particularly beneficial at different times, allowing individuals to navigate complex situations with divine wisdom.

The manifestations of spiritual gifts can be categorized into different types, particularly revelation or inspiration gifts.

Among these, the word of wisdom offers guidance on future events, while the word of knowledge provides information about current or past circumstances. Understanding the distinction between being instructed and being informed is crucial, as one pertains to future occurrences and the other to present realities. For instance, if one were to receive a word of knowledge indicating that someone has experienced a series of unfortunate events, such as the loss of loved ones, this insight can serve as a prompt for prayer and intervention, demonstrating the practical application of spiritual gifts in everyday life.

In the initial service, I recounted a personal experience regarding the first instance in which the gift of the Spirit became evident in my life, a phenomenon that has continued to manifest ever since. This ongoing presence is why individuals often come forward to share their experiences, remarking on the insights I have provided. For instance, Nneka, who offered her testimony this morning, referenced a specific moment during the Night of Increase when I conveyed a message from the Holy Spirit. I emphasized the importance of responding affirmatively when the situation calls for it, recalling how this guidance led to a significant business opportunity for her. During that event, I distinctly remember PG advising against saying no when one should embrace the opportunity to say yes, a principle that Nneka applied in her own circumstances, resulting in a positive outcome.

The gifts of the Spirit serve as a means to guide us, facilitate healing, and provide deliverance. Often, healing is intertwined with the word of knowledge, where God reveals specific insights that lead to redemption and restoration. This process underscores the significance of these spiritual gifts, as they are not merely for individual benefit but are intended to uplift and support the community. The revelations that come through these gifts are crucial, as they often pave the way for healing and transformation in the lives of those who receive them.

Another category of spiritual gifts includes those related to utterance, particularly prophecy. It is essential to understand that prophecy extends beyond merely predicting future events; it encompasses encouragement and edification as well. For example, a prophetic message can simply affirm that the Lord is present with an individual in their current situation, offering comfort and reassurance. Unfortunately, many people associate prophecy solely with political outcomes, focusing on who may win elections rather than recognizing its broader implications for personal and familial transformation. This narrow view has led to a commodification of spiritual gifts, which, according to scripture, are meant to benefit all members of the community.

There exist principal prophets whom God has appointed over various cities and nations, and these individuals receive divine revelations concerning the citizens and the nations they oversee. However, it is important to recognize that much of this information may not be intended for public dissemination, as it can lead to personal glorification and a sense of superiority among those who claim authority. The spiritual authority is not limited to a select few; rather, it is contingent upon the individual’s willingness to engage deeply with God. The extent of one’s spiritual journey is directly proportional to the commitment one is prepared to make in their relationship with the divine.

Furthermore, it is essential to understand that a pastor, while holding a significant role within the church, is not the sole representative of God’s will. They occupy a privileged position, but the gifts of the Spirit are accessible to all believers, not just those in leadership roles. These gifts are meant to be exercised in everyday life, serving as a beacon of light to those who do not yet believe. For instance, when a colleague at work experiences a challenge, the Holy Spirit may empower you to discern their situation, allowing you to offer insight or encouragement. Such manifestations of spiritual gifts can profoundly impact others, drawing them closer to faith as they witness the power of God at work through you.

In 1993, during my undergraduate studies in engineering, I felt a divine calling that led me and a few friends to establish a ministry church. This marked my initial foray into ministry, where we gathered approximately 25 young individuals on a bench, eager to initiate a fellowship. As we prepared to commence our activities, we engaged in spirited prayer and worship, creating an atmosphere of reverence and anticipation. When it was my turn to lead the prayers and share a message, I bowed my head in prayer, and in that moment, I experienced a vivid vision of a dog chasing someone. This was a novel experience for me, as I had never previously operated in the gifts of the Spirit, and I hesitated, contemplating whether to address the vision publicly or to keep it to myself.

Despite my initial reservations, I felt a surge of courage, inspired by our recent discussions about the Holy Spirit empowering us with strength. I decided to share what I had seen, asking if anyone present had any connection to a dog. The group remained silent, and I continued to describe the vision of the dog chasing someone. Suddenly, a young woman in the audience collapsed from her chair and began to roll on the floor, prompting a wave of concern among us. We were all inexperienced in handling such occurrences, but eventually, someone stepped forward to assist her. Once she regained her composure, she revealed that for several weeks, she had been tormented in her dreams by a dog chasing her. She believed that the moment I mentioned the vision, the power of God had intervened, leading to her deliverance.

The following week, she returned to our fellowship with a testimony of her newfound freedom, stating that she no longer experienced the haunting presence of the dog in her dreams. This incident profoundly impacted our group, reinforcing our faith in the power of prayer and the workings of the Holy Spirit. I continued to pastor that fellowship for an additional three to four years, witnessing numerous transformations and deepening spiritual experiences among the young people involved. The journey not only solidified my commitment to ministry but also highlighted the profound ways in which God can work through ordinary individuals in extraordinary circumstances.

It is essential to recognize that God has the power to open hearts to Himself, often through the manifestation of spiritual gifts. In this context, I see myself merely as a vessel through which these divine gifts operate. This concept is not new; it mirrors the ministry of Jesus, who demonstrated how God desires His gifts, particularly the gift of the Holy Spirit, to flow through individuals. The purpose of these gifts is to facilitate a connection between people and God, guiding their hearts to Him rather than to the individual channeling the gifts. In this way, one becomes a beacon, directing others toward a deeper relationship with the divine.

A poignant example of this can be found in John chapter 4, where a woman encounters Jesus, and we witness the operation of the word of knowledge. This instance highlights the power gifts, which include special faith, that can lead to miraculous outcomes. For instance, there was a situation where an individual, faced with a fuel crisis, was inspired by the Holy Spirit to pour water into a car’s fuel tank. Remarkably, the vehicle functioned, allowing the person to navigate the city despite the apparent impossibility of the situation. This illustrates how special faith can transcend natural laws, enabling extraordinary occurrences that defy conventional understanding.

Another compelling narrative involves a missionary who, despite having an empty fuel tank and no money, felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to continue driving. Ignoring the empty gauge, he persevered on his journey, and astonishingly, the car continued to operate for an entire day, only ceasing when he reached a city where he could refuel. This testimony serves as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary nature of special faith, which can sustain individuals in dire circumstances, allowing them to achieve what seems impossible. Such experiences not only affirm the presence of divine intervention but also encourage believers to trust in the gifts of the Spirit, which can lead to miraculous outcomes in their lives.

The narratives found within the Bible are not mere allegorical tales; they represent genuine accounts of divine intervention and the workings of the Holy Spirit among believers.

These stories illustrate the active presence of God in the lives of His people, demonstrating that the same miraculous occurrences can manifest in one’s own life. One of the primary motivations for these divine acts is to draw individuals closer to God, opening their hearts to His love and grace. The gifts of healing and the performance of miracles are not limited to a select few; rather, they are available to all who believe and position themselves in faith as children of God.

It is a common misconception that the ability to perform miracles is reserved solely for those in leadership roles, such as pastors, apostles, or prophets. While it is true that those in such positions may exhibit these gifts more frequently due to their calling, it does not imply that others are excluded from experiencing the miraculous. The gifts of the Spirit are bestowed by the Holy Spirit according to His will, and anyone can be used as a vessel for these gifts. The presence of an apostolic calling may enhance the manifestation of these gifts, akin to a professional chef possessing specialized tools for their craft. However, this does not negate the fact that every believer possesses the potential to experience and share in the miraculous workings of God.

The analogy of kitchen utensils serves to illustrate this point effectively. Just as a caterer may have an extensive array of knives and cookware tailored for their profession, every believer has access to the gifts of the Spirit, albeit perhaps in a different capacity. It is erroneous for Christians to think that they cannot pray for healing or perform miracles simply because they do not hold a formal title within the church. Jesus Himself empowered all His followers, stating that in His name, they would lay hands on the sick and see them recover. This promise underscores the inclusive nature of God’s gifts, inviting every believer to step into their identity as a child of God and to actively participate in the divine work of healing and miracles.

In the fourth chapter of the Gospel of John, a significant encounter unfolds between Jesus and a Samaritan woman at a well, which serves as a profound illustration of how the Holy Spirit can work through individuals to reach those who have yet to embrace faith. The narrative begins with Jesus traveling with His disciples to the city of Samaria, specifically to a location known as Sychar, which is situated near the land that Jacob had bequeathed to his son Joseph. As the story progresses, we learn that Jesus, weary from His journey, chose to rest by Jacob’s well around the sixth hour of the day. This setting can be likened to a modern-day visit to a coffee shop or a fast-food restaurant, where individuals pause to refresh themselves, highlighting the ordinary nature of the encounter.

As the scene unfolds, a Samaritan woman approaches the well to draw water, prompting Jesus to request a drink from her. This seemingly simple request ignites a complex dialogue, as the woman expresses her surprise at His request, given the historical animosity between Jews and Samaritans. She questions why a Jewish man would ask her, a Samaritan, for water, implying that His need might extend beyond mere physical thirst. Her response is laden with her own experiences, having been married five times, which leads her to perceive Jesus through the lens of her past encounters with men. This interaction reveals her skepticism and serves as a backdrop for a deeper conversation about spiritual needs versus physical desires.

In response to her inquiry, Jesus shifts the focus from the physical to the spiritual, suggesting that if she truly understood who He was, she would recognize the living water He could provide. This moment echoes the sentiments expressed by Peter and John in Acts chapter 3, where they proclaimed their lack of material wealth but offered something far more valuable. The exchange between Jesus and the Samaritan woman not only highlights the transformative power of faith but also emphasizes the importance of recognizing one’s spiritual thirst, which can only be quenched by a relationship with Christ. Through this encounter, the narrative illustrates the profound ways in which God seeks to engage with individuals, regardless of their background or past, to offer them the gift of salvation.

In a profound exchange, Jesus posed a question that delved into the essence of understanding one’s spiritual needs. He indicated that if the woman truly recognized the significance of their conversation, she would seek the living water He offered. This water, unlike any earthly substance, promised to quench her thirst eternally. Jesus emphasized His divine ability to address the deeper void within every individual, often referred to as the “God-shaped hole.” Many individuals attempt to fill this void through various pursuits, such as relationships, wealth, material possessions, or social status. However, Jesus asserted that only a connection with God could truly satisfy this longing.

The dialogue between Jesus and the woman transitioned from a simple discussion about physical water to a more profound exploration of her life’s challenges. Recognizing the deeper issues at play, Jesus utilized the gift of knowledge to guide the conversation toward significant matters that affected her existence. When the woman expressed her desire for the living water, Jesus redirected the conversation by instructing her to call her husband. This pivotal moment revealed the underlying struggles she faced, particularly concerning her relationships, as she had experienced five marriages. This revelation highlighted the complexity of her situation and the emotional turmoil that accompanied it.

The request for her husband marked a turning point in their interaction, as it brought to light the core issue that needed addressing. The woman’s history of multiple relationships indicated a profound struggle in her personal life, suggesting that her quest for fulfillment had led her through a series of unfulfilling connections. Jesus’s inquiry was not merely a casual question; it was a deliberate move to confront the very heart of her challenges. By addressing her marital history, He aimed to guide her toward a deeper understanding of her needs and the transformative power of the living water He offered, which could ultimately lead to healing and restoration in her life.

When Jesus instructed the woman to call her husband, her immediate reply was that she had no husband. In response, Jesus, demonstrating His divine insight, affirmed her statement by revealing, “You have spoken correctly, for you have had five husbands, and the man you are currently with is not your husband.” This revelation struck the woman profoundly, akin to the pressing of a red button, prompting her to declare, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.” Her acknowledgment indicated a recognition of the divine presence, suggesting that she understood either Jesus was utilizing some extraordinary means or that God was actively working through Him to unveil such intimate knowledge about her life.

This encounter illustrates the profound nature of spiritual gifts, which enable individuals to perceive and understand matters beyond the ordinary human capacity. Just as Jesus was endowed with the ability to discern the truth of the woman’s life, so too are believers equipped with spiritual gifts that allow them to see beyond the surface. There are countless individuals around us burdened with hidden struggles and experiences that remain invisible to the naked eye. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to gain insight into these situations, much like a telescope allows one to see distant objects with clarity, revealing details that would otherwise remain obscured.

To further elucidate this concept, consider the analogy of a telescope. If one were positioned at a distance with a telescope aimed at a neighboring estate, they could observe activities within a living room, gaining insights that are not accessible to the naked eye. Similarly, when the Holy Spirit operates in a believer’s life, it can provide a glimpse into the future or even retrieve memories from the past, offering clarity and understanding that transcends ordinary perception. If a mere optical instrument can unveil distant realities, it stands to reason that the Spirit of God possesses the capability to reveal profound truths and insights, challenging any doubts regarding its power and efficacy.

The question arises as to why one might doubt the capabilities of the Spirit of God, particularly when considering the parallels with medical science. Just as a microscope is employed to examine the intricate details found in a person’s saliva or skin, the Holy Spirit possesses a metaphorical microscope that penetrates deeply into the human heart. This divine insight allows for the identification of underlying issues, much like how Jesus engaged with the woman at the well, discerning her true struggles. In contemporary society, especially as we approach the end times, there is a tendency to focus excessively on the immediate, tangible needs of individuals, often overshadowing the spiritual dimensions of their lives.

Many individuals today, particularly younger generations, express skepticism about traditional practices such as tithing, opting instead to allocate their resources toward social initiatives and charitable works. While these efforts to assist the less fortunate are commendable and reflect a compassionate spirit, they can sometimes divert attention from the essential spiritual needs that also require addressing. As a church, we actively participate in various charitable endeavors, including the Ubomi Medical Retreat, which provides free medical care and surgeries to thousands. However, it is crucial to recognize that while we are meeting the felt needs of the community, we must also confront the spiritual dilemmas that may underlie these physical ailments.

The narrative of the woman at the well illustrates the transformative power of addressing spiritual issues. After her encounter with Jesus, she became an evangelist, sharing her experience and drawing others to Him by proclaiming, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did.” This highlights the importance of not only providing for physical needs but also seeking the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to address deeper spiritual concerns. While it is vital to support individuals through acts of kindness, such as paying school fees or assisting those in need, it is equally important to cultivate a desire for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and power to truly impact lives at their core.

It is essential for both you and me to cultivate a genuine desire for the operation of spiritual gifts in our lives. This longing is not merely a suggestion; it is a necessity for our spiritual growth and fulfillment. I pray that today, God will open your heart to this desire, as He aims to address the foundational issues that affect our lives, rather than just our immediate needs. The manifestation of spiritual gifts should not be confined to church services; rather, they are intended to be evident in our everyday lives, influencing our actions and interactions in profound ways.

To emphasize the importance of heart preparation, I encourage you to take a moment to capture this message, as it will serve as a vital reminder throughout the week. Many individuals often inquire about how to position themselves for the Holy Spirit to manifest His gifts through them. The answer lies in meditating on Scripture, as it is crucial to win the battle within your mind. You must envision yourself as a vessel that God can use, rather than seeing yourself as defeated or unworthy. Additionally, engaging in prayer, particularly in the Spirit, will help build your faith and strengthen your connection with God.

Furthermore, if you have not yet experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit or do not pray in tongues, today presents an opportunity for you to receive this gift. Equip yourself with spiritual armor as outlined in Ephesians 6:10-12, ensuring that you are consistently prepared for spiritual warfare. This includes speaking the Word of God, wielding the shield of faith, and wearing the breastplate of righteousness. As you do so, maintain an expectation for the miraculous, as indicated in Mark 16:20, where the Lord confirmed His Word with accompanying signs. It is vital to approach your spiritual journey with anticipation, recognizing that God is actively working in and through you.

Yesterday, I found myself in a peculiar state, uncertain whether I was asleep or awake. It seemed as though I had briefly dozed off, and during this time, I experienced a vivid dream in which I encountered a child in distress, convulsing and making unusual sounds. In this dream, I was not fully clothed, appearing as if I were preparing to take a bath, with a towel wrapped around me. Despite the inappropriate circumstances, I felt compelled to intervene, recognizing the urgency of the situation. I laid my hands on the child, and to my astonishment, the child began to call out for their mother, indicating a swift recovery.

In that moment, I received a profound message from the Holy Spirit, revealing the significance of what had just transpired. The Spirit conveyed that this experience was a reflection of the reality that would unfold in the lives of those around me. As I laid hands on the sick, I was assured that they would experience immediate healing, and that miracles would manifest through my actions, whether in my workplace, at home, or within my community. The Holy Spirit emphasized that my words held power; when I spoke into a situation, it would shift and transform, allowing me to discern the spiritual forces at play and address them effectively.

My travels often take me to various cities, and I have learned to be attuned to the Holy Spirit’s guidance during these journeys. Just before landing, I frequently receive a prompt to confront specific spiritual entities present in the area. In these instances, I take authority over those spirits, binding them and suspending their influence for the duration of my stay. This practice underscores the importance of collective agreement among the people; casting out such spirits can be challenging unless they are willing to relinquish their hold. The Holy Spirit’s message is clear: God desires for us to operate at this elevated level of spiritual authority in this season, bringing glory to His name.

In Acts chapter 19, particularly from verse 2, we encounter a significant revelation regarding the awareness of God’s workings among His people. The scripture illustrates a scenario where the disciples, upon being questioned by Paul, express their ignorance about the Holy Spirit, despite being believers. They respond that they have not even heard of the existence of the Holy Spirit, highlighting a disconnect between their faith and the fullness of the spiritual experience available to them. This situation underscores the reality that individuals can be part of a faith community yet remain unaware of the deeper dimensions of God’s presence and power.

As the narrative unfolds in verse 3, Paul inquires about the type of baptism they received, to which they reply that it was the baptism of John. This baptism, associated with repentance, signifies a crucial but incomplete step in their spiritual journey. Paul emphasizes that while John’s baptism was indeed a call to repentance, it did not encompass the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. He explains that John pointed to the necessity of believing in Jesus Christ, who would come after him. Upon understanding this, the disciples were baptized in the name of Jesus, leading to a profound encounter where the Holy Spirit descended upon them, enabling them to speak in tongues and prophesy.

This passage serves as a powerful reminder of the need for divine activation in the lives of believers. It suggests that many may require a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to fully engage with the gifts and guidance that God offers. In a world fraught with challenges and uncertainties, it is imperative for believers to remain vigilant and attuned to the Spirit’s leading. God is faithful and will intervene in our lives, directing our paths in various aspects, whether in our careers, businesses, or family matters. This season calls for heightened awareness and proactive engagement with the Holy Spirit, allowing us to discern and address potential challenges before they escalate, ultimately glorifying God in our lives.
