THE TOLERANCE TRAP
Today, we delve into the concept of “The Tolerance Trap” as part of our ongoing teaching series titled “Set Apart.” This series focuses on the biblical doctrine of sanctification, which refers to the process of being designated for a specific purpose. In this context, we explore how God distinguishes individuals for His divine use. Following salvation, believers become eligible for sanctification, which signifies being acknowledged by God and set apart for His glory. The scripture in 1 Peter 2:9 emphasizes this notion, declaring that we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation, called out of darkness into His marvelous light. This passage highlights our identity as God’s chosen people, underscoring the significance of being selected for a special purpose.
As we reflect on this theme, it is essential to recognize the implications of being part of a chosen generation. The terms “chosen,” “royal,” and “special” carry profound meaning, suggesting that while all individuals are valued, some are designated for a unique role in God’s plan. Just as one might assess the seating arrangements in a stadium, distinguishing between VIP and general admission, we too must periodically evaluate the relationships in our lives. This introspection may lead us to reassess who occupies the VIP section of our lives, potentially replacing those who have become toxic with new, uplifting individuals. God has indeed set apart His chosen people for His purposes, and it is crucial to surround ourselves with those who will support and enhance our spiritual journey.
In our initial discussion, we reflected on the experiences of those who grew up in households where fathers possessed distinct utensils, plates, and cutlery that were regarded as special. The act of using these items, such as referring to a cup as “daddy’s cup” or a plate as “daddy’s plate,” was often met with disapproval, and in some cases, could even lead to punishment, particularly in African cultures. This notion parallels a biblical principle found in the scripture, which states that in a large household, there are various vessels, some designated for honor and others for dishonor. The scripture emphasizes that if an individual chooses to cleanse themselves from dishonorable practices, they will be sanctified and set apart for honorable use. This concept encourages a lifestyle that is intentional about being distinguished for divine purposes, recognizing that not everything is suitable for one’s journey, especially at higher spiritual levels.
One significant challenge to maintaining a mindset of sanctification is what we refer to as the “Tolerance Trap.” This pervasive doctrine of tolerance, which is subtly ingrained in contemporary society, promotes the idea that we must accept and tolerate one another, and while this is generally commendable, it can lead to dangerous consequences. When tolerance extends to the point of accommodating beliefs and behaviors that contradict the teachings of scripture, it risks undermining our sanctified status as chosen individuals set apart for God. Such an overreach transforms tolerance into a trap, pulling us away from our rightful position among the elect. To illustrate this point, Psalm 45:6-7, particularly in the Amplified Translation, serves as a poignant reminder of the Messianic themes that underscore the importance of remaining steadfast in our commitment to God’s standards.
The psalm in question speaks specifically about Christ and His followers, emphasizing that not all psalms are centered on Him. This particular psalm highlights the eternal nature of Christ’s reign, stating, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.” It further elaborates on the divine qualities of Christ, noting His love for righteousness—encompassing virtue, morality, and justice—and His aversion to wickedness. As a result of these attributes, God has anointed Him above His peers with the oil of gladness, signifying a special purpose and distinction. The act of anointing is not merely ceremonial; it represents being set apart for a divine mission, underscoring the importance of aligning oneself with God’s nature and rejecting lawlessness.
In this discourse, we will explore how Christ exemplified a sanctified existence that consistently pleased God. In a world rife with various temptations and pitfalls, it is crucial to recognize that these challenges often manifest in subtle forms rather than overtly malevolent ones. The devil does not always present himself in a recognizable manner; instead, he employs cunning strategies that can lead individuals away from glorifying God. The Bible warns of this subtlety, indicating that the adversary may introduce ideas and preferences that gradually erode one’s spiritual integrity. Thus, it becomes imperative to remain vigilant and discerning, ensuring that one’s actions and choices reflect a commitment to righteousness and a rejection of unrighteousness.
In moments when one’s desire for spiritual fulfillment begins to wane, it is essential to reflect on the profound message conveyed in Psalm 84:10, which states that a single day in the courts of the Lord is more valuable than a thousand elsewhere. The psalmist expresses a deep yearning for God’s presence, emphasizing a preference for even the humblest role within the divine sanctuary over a life of indulgence in wickedness. This sentiment highlights the importance of maintaining a fervent commitment to God’s will, illustrating that the pursuit of divine connection should take precedence over worldly distractions. The essence of this scripture transcends mere attendance at a place of worship; it calls for an active embodiment of God’s presence in our lives, urging us to navigate away from the pitfalls of compromise and the acceptance of behaviors that do not honor God.
Reflecting on personal experiences, a story shared by a senior colleague during my university years at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced in maintaining spiritual integrity. This individual recounted his involvement with the Kegites Club, a social organization centered around palm wine consumption among students, which has become a notable cultural phenomenon in various universities across Nigeria. The Kegites Club, known for its lively songs and communal spirit, often attracted many students, creating an environment that could easily lead to moral ambiguity. While the camaraderie and enjoyment found in such gatherings are undeniable, it is crucial to remain vigilant against the subtle influences that may detract from one’s spiritual journey. The narrative underscores the necessity of positioning oneself wisely, ensuring that one’s choices align with a commitment to glorifying God rather than succumbing to societal pressures that may compromise one’s values.
For those who have attended a private university or are still in their youth, the experiences I am about to describe may not resonate fully.
Picture a scene where students, buoyed by the spirit of camaraderie, gather to sing and indulge in alcoholic beverages, their voices growing progressively louder as the night unfolds. These undergraduates, often sent to pursue their studies by well-meaning parents, seem to find their own unique form of enjoyment in such revelries. This particular narrative revolves around a specific university, which I shall refrain from naming to maintain discretion. The students often embark on what they refer to as “weekend gyration,” a tradition where they travel to another university for a weekend filled with palm wine, singing, and various forms of merriment, only to return, perhaps a bit worse for wear, on Sunday night or Monday morning, ready to face their academic responsibilities despite the lingering effects of their indulgence.
On one such occasion, a member of a Christian fellowship was also preparing for a journey to the same university, intending to collaborate with another missions team in a nearby village to engage in soul-winning activities. Unfortunately, this individual arrived too late to catch the bus organized by his fellowship, which had already departed. However, he found himself in the company of the Kegites, who were still waiting for their inebriated friends to arrive before they set off. As he expressed his frustration over missing the bus, one of the Kegites approached him, extending an invitation to join their group, assuring him that they too had a commitment to serve God, albeit in a different manner. After some contemplation, the individual decided to accompany the Kegites to the university, with the intention of seeking out the missions team upon arrival, hopeful that he could still fulfill his original purpose despite the unexpected detour.
As the bus journey progressed, the atmosphere became increasingly lively, with the boys energetically dancing and enjoying themselves. It was evident to anyone passing by that these were students from Kegites, reveling in their outing. However, amidst the revelry, one brother, who initially resisted the temptation, found himself swept up in the excitement. By the time they arrived at the university, he was intoxicated and had completely forgotten about his mission team responsibilities. Instead of fulfilling his role, he spent the entire weekend indulging in the festivities. While this may seem amusing to some, it was a serious matter for him and his fellow mission team members, as he ultimately became a mission field himself. The following week, they faced the challenging task of guiding him back to his faith, a situation that arose simply because he chose to join the bus without considering the potential consequences.
This experience serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of being vigilant about what we allow into our lives. The concept of tolerance can often be misleading, as it may lead us to accept behaviors and ideologies that are contrary to our values. The biblical principle that “a little leaven leavens the whole lump” underscores the danger of permitting even minor transgressions to go unchecked. It is crucial to reflect on what we are willing to tolerate in our surroundings. For instance, some individuals may find themselves in environments where inappropriate behavior, such as adultery or fornication, is normalized, believing that as long as they do not partake, it is acceptable. This mindset is detrimental and does not align with the teachings of Jesus, who would not condone such tolerance. In a world that continually challenges our beliefs and values, it is essential to remain steadfast and discerning about what we accept in our lives.
The church of Christ is referred to in the Bible as the foundation and support of truth, a designation that carries significant responsibility. To be the foundation and support of truth implies that we are entrusted with the preservation and dissemination of the truth. In John 8:32, Jesus proclaims, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” emphasizing the importance of truth in the believer’s life. When one comes to know the truth, they assume the role of a steward, safeguarding it with diligence and integrity. This stewardship requires discernment, as one must navigate the complexities of life without compromising the truth. It is essential to approach the truth with seriousness, avoiding any trivialization or manipulation that could lead to moral or spiritual peril.
The concept of tolerance, often defined as the acceptance of differing beliefs or practices, can present challenges for Christians. While tolerance can embody endurance and the capacity to withstand discomfort, it can also lead to a dangerous dilution of one’s convictions. Popular culture promotes a doctrine of tolerance that may entice believers into situations where moral boundaries become indistinct. This phenomenon is reminiscent of Lot’s experience in Genesis 13, where he chose to dwell near Sodom, initially maintaining a distance but ultimately compromising his values. Many today find themselves in similar predicaments, lingering in environments that challenge their faith. It is crucial to recognize these influences and to remain vigilant, ensuring that one’s proximity to temptation does not lead to a gradual erosion of one’s principles.
The concept of Sodom has evolved beyond a mere geographical location; it now represents a mindset and an operating system that influences individuals’ beliefs and actions. Sodom embodies the ideas and values that one chooses to accept, particularly those that stand in stark contrast to the teachings of the Bible. As highlighted by Pastor Debo during the first service, there is a growing perception among some Christians that God has adapted to contemporary societal norms, often referred to as being “woke.” This notion suggests that God has become more understanding and aligned with modern values, which is a significant misinterpretation. In reality, God remains unchanged, steadfast in His principles and boundaries, as affirmed in scripture. His nature is constant, and He does not alter His standards to fit the shifting tides of cultural trends.
In today’s society, characterized by a post-truth culture, the concept of truth has become increasingly subjective, shaped by individual circumstances and personal feelings. This relativism leads many to assert their own version of truth, often dismissing biblical teachings as mere personal beliefs. During a recent discussion with a group of young people in Canada, I emphasized the importance of recognizing an unchanging truth, akin to the fixed position of true north on a compass. Just as one cannot arbitrarily redefine north without risking disorientation, so too must individuals acknowledge the singular truth that Jesus proclaimed: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” This unwavering truth serves as a guiding principle, reminding us that despite the allure of contemporary ideologies, there exists a definitive moral compass that should not be compromised.
The constancy of Jesus Christ is a profound truth; He remains unchanged throughout time, embodying the same essence today, yesterday, and forever. It is essential to acknowledge the glory of Jesus and the Church of the Living God, as Christians are called to be guardians of the truth. This stewardship requires a commitment to maintaining an environment where truth prevails, especially in a world increasingly influenced by post-truth ideologies. Such ideologies pose significant risks to our generation, leading many to adopt more permissive attitudes. Jesus proclaimed, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” emphasizing that truth is not merely a concept or a set of beliefs but is personified in Him. The values He represents and how we choose to embody them are crucial for ensuring a favorable outcome in our lives.
The direction of our lives should not be dictated by personal preferences or fleeting emotions; rather, it is essential to adhere to unwavering principles. Just as navigational instruments in aviation are designed to respond to absolute truths rather than subjective feelings, so too must we align ourselves with the ultimate truth. This steadfastness is vital to prevent chaos, much like the way air traffic is managed to avoid collisions. In our current climate of tolerance, it is imperative to uphold the truth while discerning what is genuinely acceptable. The warning from Galatians 5:19 in the Amplified Version highlights the dangers of allowing even a small amount of error to infiltrate our faith, as it can mislead the entire community of believers. Many Christians, in their quest for inclusivity, may inadvertently test the boundaries of divine instruction, risking the integrity of their faith in the process.
It is essential to recognize the distinction between refraining from sin and actively promoting righteousness. One can exist in an environment where sin is absent, yet fail to advocate for the principles of righteousness. As stewards of God’s truth, it is imperative that our surroundings reflect the will of God and the teachings of His Word. It is not sufficient to merely avoid wrongdoing; we are called to embody and disseminate the values of righteousness. This responsibility compels us to stand firm in our faith and to be a beacon of light in a world that often strays from divine truth, as emphasized in the teachings of Jesus.
Furthermore, we are reminded in Romans 12:2 that we should not conform to the patterns of this world but instead undergo a transformation through the renewal of our minds. This transformation enables us to shine brightly in the midst of darkness, as articulated in John 1, where the light of Christ is described as illuminating the shadows that cannot comprehend it. The example set by Jesus is particularly instructive; He was unafraid to confront hypocrisy and unrepentant sin, often challenging those whose actions were masked by a façade of religiosity. This approach serves as a critical lesson for believers, urging us to respond to our environments with discernment and courage, as demonstrated in Matthew 16, where Jesus’ interactions provide a model for how we should navigate our own spiritual journeys.
The notion that the devil employs modern conveniences, such as ride-sharing services, serves as a metaphor for the subtlety with which temptation can infiltrate our lives. Initially, the situation may appear innocuous, yet it can quickly transform into a snare, as exemplified by the experience of Jesus, who, despite being attuned to divine purpose, recognized the peril in what seemed like a benign offer. This highlights the critical importance of spiritual discernment; when one begins to perceive circumstances solely through a human lens, devoid of divine insight, they risk falling into traps that compromise their integrity and purpose. The danger lies in adopting a mindset that prioritizes societal norms over spiritual truths, leading individuals to justify actions that contradict their faith.
The anecdote of a friend who encountered temptation during an official trip underscores the necessity of accountability and the perils of succumbing to peer pressure. In a context where moral boundaries are blurred and the prevailing attitude is one of permissiveness, it becomes increasingly challenging to maintain a sanctified life. The allure of fitting in can be overwhelming, as individuals rationalize their choices by observing that “everyone is doing it.” However, true sanctification requires a commitment to living according to God’s standards, which often means standing apart from the crowd. It is essential to cultivate relationships with accountability partners who can provide support and guidance, ensuring that one remains steadfast in their convictions amidst a culture that often promotes compromise.
In today’s digital age, the pervasive influence of social media has made it increasingly difficult to navigate moral boundaries. Pastor Debo highlighted in his sermon how sensational news, particularly involving celebrities embroiled in scandals, spreads rapidly across platforms, capturing the attention of many, including Christians. This phenomenon often leads individuals to engage with content that contradicts their values, as they find themselves repeatedly watching videos that depict immoral behavior. The biblical figure Job exemplified a commitment to purity by declaring a covenant with his eyes, vowing not to gaze upon wrongdoing. By consuming such content, viewers inadvertently support those who seek to exploit the misfortunes of others, contributing to a culture that thrives on sensationalism and degradation.
Moreover, the challenges faced by Christians in contemporary society extend beyond mere entertainment choices; they encompass broader issues of morality and social acceptance. The pressure to conform to popular culture can lead to a gradual erosion of one’s principles, as individuals may find themselves tolerating behaviors and language that contradict their beliefs. It is crucial for believers to assert their values firmly, even in the face of peer pressure. The example of Jesus rebuking Peter serves as a reminder that standing up for one’s convictions is essential, even if it risks temporary discord in relationships. Ultimately, it is better to confront and clarify one’s stance than to compromise one’s integrity for the sake of acceptance.
I would prefer to elevate the banner of Christ and engage in battle if necessary, addressing the resolution of such conflicts at a later time. From this moment, it is clear what I represent and the principles I uphold, as well as the boundaries I will not cross. All glory be to Jesus, especially in light of the numerous compromises that seem to permeate our community, often stemming from a misguided sense of tolerance. It is important to note that Jesus did not conform to such standards. In Matthew 22:36-40, when questioned about the greatest commandment, Jesus responded by emphasizing the importance of loving God with all one’s heart, soul, and mind, followed by the command to love one’s neighbor as oneself. These two commandments encapsulate the essence of Jesus’ teachings, underscoring that while we are called to love God and others, there is a distinction between loving individuals and embracing the world, which represents a system that can lead to destruction.
It is crucial to exercise caution in how we interpret and convey this message, as it may be misconstrued to suggest that one should avoid interactions with non-believers. While it is true that some individuals may exhibit behaviors that challenge our faith, there are also those who respect our beliefs and maintain appropriate boundaries in our presence. For instance, I recall my time in a postgraduate program at the University of Lagos, where I encountered classmates who, upon my arrival, would consciously alter their language and behavior, acknowledging my presence. This awareness not only reflects their respect for my faith but also prompts them to reflect on their own actions and choices. Such interactions can serve as a catalyst for personal growth and introspection, demonstrating that our commitment to our beliefs can influence those around us in profound ways.
We were required to undertake a specific course that was crucial for our graduation; failure in this course would preclude us from completing our degree. I distinctly recall the course titled General Principles of Jurisprudence and International Law, which was a five-unit class integral to our Master’s program in International Law and Diplomacy. The morning of the examination remains etched in my memory, as it was unlike any other. The exam was extensive, lasting either six or eight hours, and we were informed that submitting fewer than 25 fullscap sheets would result in failure. This was a writing-intensive examination, where the primary strategy for success was to write continuously; the more one wrote, the higher the likelihood of passing. The exam environment was such that students could take breaks to use the restroom or even grab a meal, and if fatigue set in, one could pause to stretch before resuming.
On that fateful morning, there was a palpable sense of anxiety among the students, including those who had already obtained their LL.M. degrees. The presence of the professor added to the tension, as his reputation was intimidating. As we prepared for the exam, an incident occurred where some students managed to acquire a copy of the exam paper. I noticed a group gathering around this paper, and rather than join them, I chose to remove myself to another room, where I sat alone with my thoughts. When the exam commenced, I observed the students who had the paper still huddled together, appearing uncertain and passing notes among themselves. Ultimately, I felt a sense of divine intervention for my decision to abstain from participating in that unethical act. After the examination concluded, three individuals approached me, seeking guidance on how they could find redemption for their actions.
A person approached me seeking prayer for his marriage, expressing a deep sense of urgency as he felt his relationship was on the brink of collapse. Unbeknownst to him, I held the position of a pastor, yet there was an undeniable conviction in his heart that I possessed a unique strength. He believed that if I could resist such temptations, there must be something extraordinary about my character. As he posed various questions, I was profoundly moved by the encounter, reflecting on my drive home from school that day. It was a moment of realization that perhaps God was indeed proud of me. I do not claim to be infallible, as I have faced my own challenges, but I firmly believe that leaning on divine grace can empower individuals to withstand temptation and remain steadfast.
The key to my escape from potential pitfalls lay in my decision-making at critical moments. I recall carrying my book and promptly relocating to another room, understanding that lingering in a tempting environment could lead to compromising choices. The inner voice that urges one to indulge often rationalizes that it is acceptable to prioritize immediate gratification over long-term integrity. In the context of academic pressures, the reality is that passing an exam is not guaranteed, and many students fail due to a lack of preparation or focus. However, the grace to act decisively at the right moment is crucial. Just as Jesus admonished Peter, taking the right steps can bring about calm in tumultuous situations. Young individuals in relationships should recognize that practicing fidelity during their single years is not only possible but essential, as it lays the foundation for trust and integrity in future partnerships. Many who seek guidance in relationships often reflect on their past choices, wishing they had approached their single lives with greater intentionality to foster stronger bonds in their current relationships.
The complexities of trust within a relationship, particularly one that is expected to adhere to Christian values, can be profoundly challenging. In my experience, the actions of my wife, despite our shared commitment to Christianity, have led to a significant erosion of trust. Observing her interactions with male colleagues in the office raises concerns, especially given the intimate experiences we have shared in the past. If she can reconcile her conscience with these behaviors, it leaves me questioning the integrity of our relationship. This lack of trust is not merely a fleeting issue; it is a fundamental threat to the very foundation of our bond. To navigate this turmoil, it is essential to define the nature of our relationship clearly. If we affirm that it is a Christian relationship, we must commit to living by biblical principles. Conversely, if we choose to disregard those principles, we open ourselves to a different set of behaviors and expectations.
In the teachings of Jesus, there are explicit guidelines regarding acceptable conduct, which serve as a framework for relationships. He established clear boundaries, as illustrated in the account of the woman caught in adultery. Rather than condemning her, Jesus offered her a chance for redemption, yet He also emphasized the importance of transformation by instructing her to “go and sin no more.” This directive is not a mere suggestion to live freely without accountability; it is a call to uphold moral integrity. In contemporary society, we often create environments that blur these critical lines, fostering a culture of tolerance that can lead to moral ambiguity. The distinction between being free from condemnation and being free to act without restraint is crucial. It is imperative to recognize that true Christian relationships demand accountability and a commitment to uphold the truth, ensuring that both partners are aligned in their values and actions.
In the narrative presented, the essence of forgiveness and the recognition of sin is profoundly illustrated through the encounter between Jesus and a woman described as a sinner, often interpreted as a prostitute. This event unfolds in the house of Simon, a Pharisee, as recounted in the Gospel of Luke, specifically from verses 36 to 50. During this gathering, the woman approaches Jesus, demonstrating her deep remorse and gratitude by anointing His feet with oil and wiping them with her hair. The onlookers, particularly Simon, question Jesus’ prophetic status, suggesting that if He were truly a prophet, He would discern the woman’s sinful nature. In response, Jesus engages Simon in a parable about two debtors, emphasizing that those who have been forgiven much will express greater gratitude. This interaction culminates in Jesus affirming the woman’s forgiveness, highlighting the transformative power of faith and the importance of acknowledging sin before offering absolution.
The significance of this passage extends beyond the immediate act of forgiveness; it serves as a reminder of the complexities of human relationships and the nature of grace. Jesus’ declaration to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace,” encapsulates the core message of redemption and the necessity of recognizing one’s own shortcomings. This narrative challenges the notion of judgment based on outward appearances or past actions, urging individuals to embrace the profound impact of forgiveness. In contemporary contexts, it prompts reflection on how we perceive and respond to those who express affection or generosity towards us, reminding us that true understanding and acceptance often require a deeper acknowledgment of the human condition and the grace that accompanies it.
One of the significant challenges faced by pastors is the influence of affluent parishioners who may bestow lavish gifts upon them. This dynamic can create a situation where the pastor feels compelled to remain silent in the face of inappropriate behavior exhibited by these individuals. It becomes difficult to address issues such as marital discord or unethical conduct when the financial contributions of these parishioners seem to overshadow their moral failings. The pastor must remember that material wealth does not equate to spiritual integrity, and it is essential to uphold the teachings of the Scriptures. The question arises: what benefit is there in gaining worldly riches if it leads to the loss of one’s soul or the disintegration of family relationships? It is imperative for pastors to confront these truths, regardless of the material blessings that may surround them, as silence in the face of sin is not in alignment with the teachings of Jesus.
Furthermore, it is crucial to recognize that maintaining relationships with friends who may not share the same faith does not necessitate severing ties. Instead, the expectation is to establish appropriate boundaries while gently guiding them towards understanding the principles that govern a life aligned with God’s Word. The Scriptures remind us not to love the world or its transient pleasures, as these are not reflective of the Father’s will. The allure of worldly desires, such as the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, is ultimately fleeting and contrary to the eternal values upheld by God. While God loves humanity, He disapproves of the corrupt systems and temptations that pervade the world. Therefore, it is essential to navigate these relationships with discernment, encouraging others to seek a path that leads to spiritual fulfillment rather than succumbing to the superficial attractions of worldly existence.
It is essential to reject the temptations that arise from the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, as these are the very challenges we face in a world increasingly influenced by secular humanism. The lust of the flesh often leads individuals to prioritize human desires over divine principles, resulting in a mindset that elevates humanity above God. Many around us may exhibit such behavior, achieving results that are not aligned with the teachings of Scripture. As Christians, we are called to operate within a different economic framework, one that is guided by biblical principles rather than the fleeting successes of the secular world. It is crucial to remain vigilant, as the allure of worldly achievements can ensnare us, leading to a compromise of our values. A single misstep can create a foothold that makes it difficult to resist further temptations.
For those who find themselves ensnared in such situations, it is vital to recognize the need for change and to take decisive action.
You cannot continue to dig deeper into a pit of moral compromise; instead, you must seek to emerge from it. Remember that God has set you apart for His purpose, and it is your responsibility to live in accordance with that calling. Reflect on the influences in your life and consider what you have been tolerating that requires your attention. If you are in an environment that is detrimental to your spiritual well-being, such as living with someone who engages in harmful behaviors, it is time to earnestly pray for deliverance. Just as Pastor Debo shared his experience of seeking God’s intervention to escape a toxic living situation, you too can ask the Lord to guide you out of circumstances that threaten your integrity and spiritual growth. Trust that God will provide a way for you to honor His glory in your life.
The following day, or the subsequent Monday after the weekend, upon arriving at the office, he was informed of his transfer to an offshore location. It was communicated that upon the completion of his assignment there, he would be able to return to the southern region, specifically Lagos. Consequently, there would be no necessity for him to secure accommodation in the Niger Delta any longer. This marked the conclusion of the matter.
