THE MONEY MAGNET

Over the weekend, I engaged in meditation focused on the word of God, particularly reflecting on the profound insights found in Psalm 23. This experience deepened my appreciation for the psalm, and I earnestly hope that more believers will dedicate time to explore its depths. There exists a unique way to approach the psalm, allowing oneself to embody the perspective of its author. Most psalms are crafted as songs, and Psalm 23, attributed to David, serves as a remarkable example. It prompts us to consider how a believer can cultivate a relationship with God that fosters personal revelations, enabling the Holy Spirit to inspire expressions of faith that resonate universally among believers.

The concept of the “Abundance Blueprints” finds a compelling illustration in the life of David, who exemplified this understanding through his experiences as a shepherd, warrior, and king of Israel. In Psalm 23, he proclaims, “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want,” a declaration rooted in both experiential and revelatory knowledge. Those who have traversed similar paths as David can grasp the profound truths that God seeks to impart to us. In a world often marked by economic challenges and scarcity, embracing the revelation of God as Jehovah Jireh, the provider, and El Shaddai, the all-sufficient one, empowers us to rise above fear and uncertainty. As we delve deeper into this series, we will uncover the transformative power of understanding God’s provision in our lives.

The discussion at hand revolves around the concept of becoming a magnet for financial prosperity. It is essential to acknowledge that money serves as a vital resource that facilitates numerous opportunities for personal growth, familial support, and contributions to the greater good, including the advancement of spiritual endeavors. However, it is crucial to understand that one’s mindset—whether it be spiritual, emotional, or psychological—can significantly influence the ability to recognize and seize wealth creation opportunities. There exists a state of being where individuals may find it challenging to identify these opportunities, often leading to a struggle in fulfilling their own needs and extending blessings to others. Conversely, there is a more favorable state in which individuals can effortlessly spot opportunities, allowing them to thrive without the burden of financial constraints.

In Psalm 23, particularly verses 5 and 6, David articulates a profound revelation regarding abundance and divine provision. He expresses that God prepares a table for him in the presence of adversaries, anointing his head with oil, resulting in an overflowing cup. This imagery symbolizes not only abundance but also the assurance that goodness and mercy will accompany him throughout his life. The essence of goodness encompasses the fulfillment of one’s needs without hardship, suggesting that it is indeed God’s intention for certain blessings, including opportunities for wealth creation, to follow those who are aligned with His will. To fully embrace this divine promise, one must seek revelation knowledge, as it is through this understanding that individuals can unlock the potential for abundance in their lives.

Until the divine will of God is revealed to me on a personal level, I find it challenging to fully embrace and enact that will in my life. This struggle often leads to a sense of conflict, as I grapple with the various forces that seem to impede my destiny. Jesus emphasized the importance of prayer in this context, instructing us to approach God with reverence and to seek the fulfillment of His will in our lives. When the will of God becomes a personal revelation, transformative events can occur. Conversely, when I am at odds with this will, I experience a tug-of-war within my destiny, which ultimately hinders my progress.

In this season, I encourage you to trust that God’s will for your life is one of abundance, even if the path to that abundance remains unclear. Acceptance of this divine intention is crucial, as it opens your eyes to the possibilities that lie ahead. Consider the trials faced by David, who, despite the opposition from Saul, remained steadfast in his pursuit of the kingship to which he had been anointed. Had David not possessed a personal revelation of God’s promise, he might have relinquished the opportunity to lead Israel, succumbing to the pressures of his circumstances. Many individuals today forfeit significant opportunities for fulfilling their destinies due to a lack of personal revelation, often retreating in the face of adversity when confronted by powerful figures who challenge their aspirations.

When one hesitates and withdraws from pursuing their divine purpose, they ultimately fall short of fulfilling God’s will for their lives.

It is essential to recognize that such a fate is not destined for you. To avoid living in this manner, it is imperative to embrace a life guided by revelation. A fundamental truth to accept is that you were created by God to attract goodness into your life. This includes the ability to draw in financial prosperity and opportunities for wealth creation. There is nothing inherently wrong with seeking to attract wealth; rather, it is a natural extension of the blessings bestowed upon us.

In the book of Genesis, specifically in verses 28 and 29, we find a profound declaration from God to humanity. He blessed the first man and woman, instructing them to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue it, and exercise dominion over all living creatures. This scripture not only highlights God’s abundant provision for His creation but also emphasizes His command for fruitfulness. God established a framework for prosperity by creating trees that bear fruit with seeds, thereby illustrating that if He commands fruitfulness, it is essential to observe and learn from the fruitful elements of creation surrounding us. In essence, God desires for humanity to thrive, multiply, and harness the potential within the seeds they possess, enabling them to maximize opportunities and attract goodness in all aspects of life.

This morning, I invite you to pay close attention as I discuss the concept of becoming a magnet for wealth, specifically focusing on the ability to identify and seize opportunities for financial growth. In the divine creation, God established trees, which serve as a profound metaphor for abundance due to their inherent capacity to multiply. Each tree bears fruit, and within that fruit lies a seed, which is essential for the tree’s propagation. When one approaches a tree, the immediate experience is the enjoyment of its fruit, which nourishes the individual. However, the true potential for growth and continuation of the tree’s existence is found in the seed contained within the fruit. This illustrates a vital principle: when individuals enter your life, they are often drawn to the fruits of your labor, and it is through these fruits that seeds of opportunity can be sown, leading to further abundance.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 12, verse 24, Jesus articulates a similar principle, stating that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains solitary; yet, if it dies, it yields a bountiful harvest. This process of generating abundance hinges on the willingness to release one’s seed, which symbolizes the potential within each of us that God desires to be expressed. Furthermore, Psalm 126, verses 5 and 6, reinforces this notion by proclaiming that those who sow in tears will reap joyfully, emphasizing the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges. The act of sowing, even amidst sorrow, is a pathway to reaping a fruitful harvest. Ultimately, God’s intention is for us to discover and utilize the seeds within us, which can be deployed to create economic value and usher us into a life of abundance.

There exists a perspective within Christianity that has conditioned individuals to seek monetary gain directly from prophets and teachers who propagate a distorted version of the gospel. This interpretation creates a divide between believers and their inherent responsibilities towards creation, suggesting that financial blessings can be obtained without any reciprocal exchange of value. In truth, money, as ordained by divine principles, is meant to flow in accordance with the value one provides. Those who pursue wealth without regard for value creation may inadvertently engage in dishonest practices, akin to theft. It is essential to understand that the pursuit of money without a foundation of value is fundamentally flawed and misaligned with the teachings of the gospel.

Moreover, the notion that one can attain financial prosperity without offering any value is misleading and contrary to God’s original design. Such scenarios may only manifest during times of crisis when divine intervention is necessary, but they do not represent the standard by which God guides individuals. Instead, divine guidance often involves illuminating the potential within oneself, recognizing the seeds of opportunity that one possesses, and identifying the appropriate avenues for investment. A seed symbolizes the resources one has at their disposal, which can be strategically utilized to generate economic value and foster abundance. The environment in which one chooses to plant these seeds is crucial, as it determines the potential for increased productivity and fruitful harvests.

Am I effectively conveying my message this morning? Is there anyone present in this gathering who is truly engaged with my words? I urge you to listen attentively, as a significant breakthrough is poised to occur today. It is essential that someone here grasps a concept that will unlock a deeper understanding of the divine purpose that God has for you in this season. Often, individuals attend church with a mindset solely focused on looking upward toward God. When asked about their well-being during the week, they may respond with, “We are looking up to God.” However, it is crucial to recognize that God may be prompting us to also look around us, as well as within ourselves. After we have sought divine guidance, we must turn our attention inward and outward, for the final steps toward economic breakthrough involve this holistic approach.

The journey toward prosperity begins with faith in God, but it does not end there. We must also explore the untapped potential within ourselves and recognize the opportunities that surround us. It is vital to understand that financial resources tend to flow toward those who create and offer value. Each individual possesses a unique capacity to attract abundance, akin to a living magnet. When we receive revelation knowledge, it enhances our ability to draw in greater opportunities. The circumstances we currently experience reflect the extent of our magnetism. As we pray and place our trust in God, we seek to expand our capacity to attract more. This transformation occurs as God enlightens us to recognize the seeds we possess and the fertile ground where we can plant them.

The notion that opportunities are scarce, particularly in third-world countries, is a deceptive narrative often perpetuated by negative influences. Many individuals find themselves in a state of despair, believing that they lack the means to achieve success or make significant changes in their lives. This mindset leads to a cycle of dependency and hopelessness, as people overlook the myriad of possibilities that exist around them. A compelling resource that challenges this misconception is “The Fastest Billion: Stories Behind Africa’s Economic Revolution” by Charles Robertson, which is prefaced by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. This book illustrates that Africa, despite its challenges, is recognized as a region with immense potential for economic growth, often referred to as the “fastest billion.” The pace at which wealth can be generated may vary globally, but the opportunities for prosperity in Africa are abundant and ripe for exploration.

It is essential to recognize that even those outside of faith understand the trends and potential that exist within Africa. The narrative of scarcity is often a barrier to recognizing the wealth of opportunities available, particularly in emerging industries that remain largely untapped. The metaphorical “green areas” of the world symbolize sectors that are still in their infancy, offering vast potential for innovation and wealth creation. However, the pervasive influence of fear, insecurity, and political instability can create a psychological barrier that prevents individuals from seizing these opportunities. It is crucial to shift this mindset and acknowledge that, regardless of external circumstances, there are numerous avenues for growth and success waiting to be explored.

In certain circumstances, a protective barrier may emerge from entrenched corruption, which in turn generates significant challenges, prompting individuals to distance themselves from potential opportunities. This phenomenon is indeed tangible, and while I am not suggesting that one should avoid following divine guidance to their destined location, it is essential to recognize that one can thrive in alternative environments while still accessing lucrative prospects. It is crucial to understand that the dynamics of opportunity are not confined to a single geographical area; rather, they can be harnessed from various locations, allowing individuals to capitalize on financial growth more swiftly.

To illustrate this concept, I would like to introduce the cash flow quadrant, a framework developed by Robert Kiyosaki in his influential book, “Cash Flow Quadrant,” which is a companion to his well-known work, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” This quadrant categorizes individuals based on their primary sources of income, which typically begin with employment, where value is delivered in exchange for remuneration. Some individuals may choose the path of self-employment, seeking autonomy in their work, while others may evolve into business owners or investors. Each of these categories presents unique opportunities for wealth generation, and it is vital for individuals to recognize and effectively utilize their resources, or “seeds,” to attract financial success. Those who fail to optimize their position within these quadrants often struggle to realize their full potential, underscoring the importance of strategic engagement in one’s current role, whether as an employee in a bank or any other sector.

In the realm of organizational structure, one can identify various tiers of management, including executive management, middle-level management, and senior management. The importance of maximizing one’s potential within these roles cannot be overstated, as it is often said that those who are faithful in small matters will be entrusted with greater responsibilities. This principle applies not only to employees but also to investors who aspire to attract wealth. Many individuals express a desire to be self-employed, seeking independence from traditional employment. However, a significant risk associated with self-employment is the potential for stagnation. It is crucial for self-employed individuals, such as electricians, plumbers, or consultants, to evolve into business owners. The challenge lies in the fact that self-employed professionals often find themselves tethered to their work, as their income is directly linked to their presence and service delivery.

Moreover, the comparison between self-employment and traditional employment reveals important considerations. Employees benefit from a safety net; for instance, if they fall ill, they continue to receive their salary, whereas self-employed individuals face the harsh reality of lost income during periods of illness. Many people engage in various entrepreneurial ventures, such as selling products, yet they often seek divine intervention through prayer without fully understanding the implications of their faith. The “amen” they utter should serve as a catalyst for personal growth and transformation, prompting them to maximize their potential or transition to a higher level of success. If their prayers do not lead to meaningful change, then they risk remaining stagnant, caught between two worlds without fully committing to either. It is essential to embrace revelation and knowledge to facilitate this transition, ensuring that one is not merely existing but actively progressing in their endeavors.

It is essential to recognize the distinction between being self-employed and being a business owner, particularly in the context of establishing effective systems. During a recent leadership conference, I emphasized that a true business owner implements systems that allow operations to continue seamlessly in their absence. While being self-employed can be a viable option, it is not a sustainable long-term strategy unless one is earning substantial income, such as millions, which would permit a limited number of projects each year. For those who do not find themselves in such a fortunate position, it is crucial to rethink their approach and develop systems that enable others to perform the tasks they currently handle, ensuring that work can proceed regardless of their presence.

As you reflect on your current position within the value creation quadrants, consider whether there are opportunities for growth or transition. Many individuals may find themselves earning a comfortable income as employees, yet they often overlook the potential of the investor quadrant. To truly enhance your financial situation, it is vital to adopt a different mindset that allows money to work for you. In simple terms, employees work for others, self-employed individuals work for themselves, business owners have others working for them, and investors make their money work for them. It is important to recognize that remaining in the self-employed category can be limiting unless one learns to build a business that leverages the efforts of others.

Glory be to Jesus. As we enter the year 2022, it is imperative for each individual to assess their current position. During this season of prayer and reflection as we transition into the New Year, it is essential that all prayers, revelations, and blessings locate you in a state of growth and productivity. It is crucial to avoid stagnation, especially when divine blessings are abundant and the covenant of God is actively at work in your life. Glory be to Jesus.

There are two primary reasons why individuals may struggle to attract financial prosperity. The first reason is the failure to recognize or identify the potential of their own resources, often referred to as their “seed.” Regardless of the circumstances one finds themselves in, the focus should remain on the seed that can be sown. This principle is illustrated in 2 Kings 4:2-7, where the widow of a deceased prophet seeks assistance from Elisha, who symbolizes divine intervention. Elisha inquires about her possessions, emphasizing the importance of looking inward and around oneself for resources. The widow initially perceives her situation as dire, claiming she has nothing but a jar of oil. This narrative serves as a reminder that many individuals underestimate their own capabilities and resources, often dismissing what they possess as insignificant.

In the realm of real estate, there is a notable trend where individuals are making significant strides, prompting them to identify themselves by their professional titles such as surveyors, accountants, or engineers. This phenomenon highlights the current vibrancy of these sectors, which stand out as the primary areas of opportunity. It is essential to recognize that each person possesses inherent potential, akin to a bag of seeds; one cannot expect to bear fruit without first acknowledging and nurturing the seeds within. The essence of this message is that every individual must understand their own value and the potential impact of their unique contributions, as these seeds can yield remarkable results when cultivated properly.

The biblical narrative of Elisha and the widow serves as a powerful illustration of this principle. When the widow expressed her lack of resources, Elisha instructed her to gather empty vessels from her neighbors, emphasizing the importance of preparation and faith in the process. As she poured the oil into the vessels, it miraculously multiplied until there were no more vessels left to fill. This story encapsulates the journey from scarcity to abundance, demonstrating that one must not underestimate their own capabilities and resources. By recognizing and harnessing the potential within, individuals can transform their circumstances and achieve financial stability. Therefore, it is vital to encourage one another to acknowledge the seeds they carry, as each person is indeed a reservoir of value and potential.

In 2nd Corinthians 9:10, the Apostle Paul articulates a profound truth regarding divine provision, stating that God, who provides seed to the sower and sustenance for nourishment, will multiply the seeds that have been sown and enhance the fruits of righteousness. This passage emphasizes that God is the ultimate source of all seeds, not limited to financial resources but encompassing a variety of gifts, talents, and opportunities that individuals possess. It is imperative for us to engage in introspection during this season, recognizing the diverse seeds we carry within ourselves. We must be courageous enough to allow God to guide us to the appropriate avenues for sowing these seeds, as He is the one who supplies them to those willing to sow. When we position ourselves as sowers, we open the door to extraordinary possibilities that can truly astonish us.

Every individual is endowed with seeds; there is not a single person created without them.

The challenge lies in the lack of imagination, inspiration, and insight that often hinders people from recognizing the potential of the seeds they possess. Much like the widow who struggled to see her own resources, many fail to appreciate the power inherent in their gifts. It is essential to seek divine enlightenment, asking for clarity to recognize both existing and new seeds within us. Each person is akin to a complex machine, equipped with numerous buttons that, when pressed, yield various value propositions. Those with multiple passions and skills may find that the results they achieve depend on which “button” they choose to activate at any given time. Thus, it is crucial to explore and cultivate the seeds we have, as they hold the key to unlocking our potential and fulfilling our purpose.

In our lives, we often overlook the potential that resides within us, much like the woman who possessed only a jar of oil. If she had successfully sold that oil and generated some income, she would have been inspired to explore further opportunities for growth and prosperity. This mindset reflects the divine intention for us to think expansively, which in turn enriches our prayers and spiritual pursuits. Many individuals fail to recognize the manifestations of God’s presence in their lives because they are overly focused on external sources of assistance. While it is natural to seek help from above, it is equally important to turn inward and acknowledge the resources and capabilities that lie within us. The psalmist’s declaration of looking to the hills for help serves as a reminder that true support also comes from recognizing our inner strength and potential.

Moreover, the Holy Spirit is actively working within each of us, guiding us to realize our purpose and fulfill God’s will. The scripture emphasizes that it is God who operates within us, instilling the desire and ability to achieve His good pleasure. As we approach a new year, it is crucial to identify and activate the latent potential within us, pressing the necessary buttons to bring about change and progress. The challenge lies in recognizing and nurturing the seeds of opportunity that God has placed in our lives. The adversary, however, seeks to undermine this potential by discouraging us from acknowledging or utilizing our gifts. It is essential to understand that the enemy despises these seeds of promise and will employ various tactics to prevent them from flourishing. Therefore, we must remain vigilant and determined to circumvent any obstacles that hinder our growth, embracing the divine purpose that God has instilled within us.

The concept of a seed extends beyond mere financial contributions; it encompasses various forms of obedience, service, kindness, and the unique talents and abilities inherent within each individual. Often, the notion of a seed is narrowly interpreted as monetary donations, which has led to a limited understanding within the church. However, it is essential to recognize that while money is indeed one type of seed, it is not the sole representation. The principle of generosity applies not only to financial giving but also to acts of kindness and expressions of gratitude. The biblical perspective highlights that those who generously share their resources will experience abundance, while those who hoard may find themselves in want. Gratitude, too, serves as a vital seed; failing to express appreciation can lead to closed doors and missed opportunities, as illustrated in Psalms 67:5-6, which emphasizes that praise and gratitude can yield blessings and increase.

Furthermore, the relationship between seed and space is crucial for realizing potential and attracting wealth. A seed, regardless of its type, is ineffective without the appropriate environment in which to grow. Conversely, space alone lacks value without the presence of a seed. The synergy between the two is what unlocks true value and generates returns. Understanding how to identify and utilize the right spaces—whether in investment, career advancement, or various industries—can significantly enhance one’s ability to cultivate multiple streams of income. This wisdom allows individuals to navigate different opportunities effectively, ensuring that their seeds are planted in fertile ground, thereby maximizing their potential for growth and success.

As we enter the year 2022, it is my belief that divine guidance will lead you to the appropriate opportunities and environments. For those who have experienced stagnation in their current circumstances, a transformative shift is imminent. The biblical account in Genesis 26 serves as a powerful reminder of this principle. In this chapter, particularly verse 12, we see Isaac sowing in the land that God had designated for him, despite the challenges presented by a famine distinct from that faced by his father, Abraham. Initially, Isaac contemplated moving to Egypt, but God instructed him to remain in Gerar, affirming that this was his ordained space. This concept of “space” can manifest in various forms, whether as a physical location, an industry, or even a digital platform.

In today’s digital era, many individuals possess talents and potential that are better suited for online platforms rather than traditional physical spaces. It is crucial to recognize that what may thrive on social media, such as Instagram, should not be confined to a physical storefront. The bustling commercial areas, like those in Lekki, often witness a high turnover of businesses, indicating that reliance solely on physical presence may not be sustainable. Instead, we must embrace the digital landscape as a viable avenue for expressing our gifts and ideas. Just as the prophet instructed the widow in 2 Kings Chapter 4 to gather vessels, I pray that you will be granted insight into the right opportunities and platforms to pursue in this season. May divine intervention guide those who are currently misaligned in their pursuits, redirecting their steps toward fruitful endeavors.

Your enterprises will no longer face demise, and your potential will not be squandered in unproductive environments, all in the name of the Lord Jesus. My prayer today is that God will initiate a transformation within someone, guiding them to recognize the divine seeds that have been placed within them. It is essential to identify the appropriate environment that nurtures these seeds. As we conclude, let us consider various examples of conducive environments that can foster growth. While this list is not exhaustive, it serves to inspire and broaden one’s perspective on the multitude of platforms available. Consider the value of social capital, partnerships, and mentorship opportunities that can create spaces for personal and professional development.

As we approach the upcoming year, we will be launching a mentoring platform aimed at empowering the youth within our community. It is crucial for young individuals to leverage the social capital available within the church, as this institution exists to support and uplift its members. Unlike Ananias and Sapphira, who sought to exploit these resources, you can engage with the community in a meaningful way. Additionally, there are numerous physical locations and assets that can be utilized for business ventures. Our church has been blessed with access to various facilities, and it is time for you to take advantage of these opportunities. The potential for growth is vast, whether through establishing brands, exploring new territories, or considering franchise options. If you are contemplating starting a business, consider partnering with an existing franchise rather than beginning from scratch. The time has come to embrace your destiny and eliminate any excuses that may hold you back.
