THE BLESSING OF CREATIVITY

The concept of creativity as a blessing is integral to our understanding of a fulfilled life. Recently, we initiated a teaching series focused on the notion of a blessed life, highlighting its multifaceted and multidimensional nature. It is essential to recognize that being blessed transcends mere material possessions; it encompasses a range of intangible gifts such as wisdom, inner strength, resilience, divine guidance, and a vivid imagination. These elements are crucial to the essence of a blessed existence, alongside divine protection, which manifests in various forms throughout life. We have established that a blessed life is fundamentally anchored in a covenant with God, suggesting that those who enter into this sacred relationship are inherently entitled to experience the fullness of blessings.

In our discussions, we have also addressed certain factors that may hinder the realization of a blessed life, particularly the detrimental effects of greed. Greed can obstruct one’s ability to fully embrace the blessings available through the covenant, as illustrated in Proverbs 11:24, which contrasts the expanding world of the generous with the constricted existence of the stingy. The King James Version further emphasizes this by stating that those who give freely will prosper, while those who hoard will face poverty. Our teachings encourage individuals to cultivate a spirit of generosity and to recognize that true wealth lies in being rich towards God and serving others. Additionally, we explored the concept of faith as a vital currency in the spiritual realm, underscoring that without faith, it is impossible to please God, thus reinforcing the importance of addressing materialism and embracing a faith-driven life.

The divine essence is not swayed by mere emotional expressions; rather, it is faith that captures God’s attention. Faith is cultivated through the act of listening, particularly to the word of God. When one comprehends, believes, meditates upon, and aligns their life with this word, they embody a life of faith. This faith is the catalyst for experiencing a blessed existence, as it opens the door to the abundant gifts that God has graciously bestowed upon humanity. In our current discourse, we will explore how this blessed life manifests in the context of my professional and entrepreneurial endeavors, particularly within the corporate landscape of Nigeria. We aim to integrate insights from our Enterprise Development Month, typically observed in November, into our discussions this April, focusing on how the principles of a blessed life influence my daily activities in the corporate sector.

Today, I will delve into the theme of creativity as a manifestation of this blessing. A pertinent observation from the World Economic Forum highlights that traditional skills alone are inadequate to meet the demands of contemporary and future challenges. Instead, innovation and creativity are essential competencies that will enable individuals to thrive across various fields. The encouraging aspect is that these qualities are inherent attributes of God, which we are encouraged to embody in our lives. To be creative involves harnessing a vivid imagination and generating original ideas, and since we are in covenant with the Creator of all, we should not experience a scarcity of innovative thoughts. It is crucial to recognize that our professional pursuits in corporate Nigeria should not be viewed as separate from our spiritual convictions; rather, they should be integrated, reflecting the holistic nature of our faith in every aspect of our lives.

Engaging in church activities on Sunday often involves reading the Bible prior to departing from home. However, upon arriving at the church, it is essential to apply practical wisdom, commonly referred to as “street sense.” While this form of discernment is valuable, it is insufficient on its own, particularly for those who maintain a covenant with God. This covenant should permeate every facet of life, influencing not only personal conduct but also professional endeavors and career management. Creativity, which is often associated with having a vivid imagination or generating original ideas, is fundamentally rooted in the divine nature of God. If creativity is an inherent attribute of God, then it logically follows that it is also embedded within those who are in covenant with Him. Therefore, individuals should strive to express and cultivate the creativity that resides within them.

To substantiate this perspective with scriptural evidence, one can refer to Genesis 1:1, which stands as the inaugural verse of the Bible. This verse, consistent across various translations, states, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This introduction to God highlights His primary attribute of creativity, establishing it as the first characteristic revealed in Scripture. It is noteworthy that the verse could have introduced God in numerous other ways, such as emphasizing His holiness or His acts of worship. However, the Bible distinctly presents God as a Creator from the very outset, underscoring the significance of creativity as a foundational aspect of His identity. Thus, the essence of God’s creative power is not only a theological concept but also a call to those in covenant with Him to embrace and manifest that creativity in their lives.

The initial introduction to God reveals a profound connection that many often overlook. While it is common to perceive God merely as a deity demanding worship, it is essential to recognize that He desires more than just our reverence. God seeks for us to embody and express His attributes, which are inherently woven into our being. The first attribute we encounter is His creativity, a quality that permeates the entirety of scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. This divine creativity is not only evident in God’s own works but also in the inspired actions of individuals such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who exemplified innovative and creative thinking. The scriptures are rich with examples of God’s creative influence, showcasing how His attributes manifest in the lives of those who maintain a covenant relationship with Him, much like we aspire to do today.

The blessings bestowed upon us confer these divine attributes, including creativity, which is intrinsic to our identity as beings created in God’s image. When we speak of likeness, we refer to the essence and qualities that define us, while image pertains to our form. To say that we are made in the likeness of God implies that we share in His creative capabilities. Just as God refrained from creating certain objects, such as chairs, He provided the raw materials for us to innovate and create for ourselves. This act of empowerment underscores our role as co-creators with God, encouraging us to embrace our creative potential and recognize that our ability to innovate is a reflection of the divine nature within us.

God initiated the process of creation by bringing forth apples, yet he did not produce apple juice. He indicated that when thirst arises, one must crush the fruit to discover a refreshing drink, inviting acknowledgment of this truth. The act of creation was commenced by God, but the completion of this work was entrusted to humanity. He infused us with His divine essence and delegated the responsibility of creation to us. In fact, when it comes to the creation of human beings, He only fashioned two individuals, and since then, we have made remarkable progress, with the global population exceeding seven billion. It is essential to recognize our role as co-creators with God, possessing the inherent ability to create, which extends beyond mere biological reproduction to encompass all facets of life. The biological aspect serves as a foundation for our creative potential.

As we reflect on God’s creation of male and female, we can observe the exponential growth of humanity, particularly in regions like Africa, where nations such as Nigeria are nearing a population of 200 million, making it the most populous country on the continent. This achievement is commendable, yet it is crucial to expand our vision beyond biological creation. We must embrace a broader perspective of creation that encompasses various domains, as this is vital for economic growth and overall development. If we remain focused solely on producing individuals without addressing the accompanying challenges, we risk perpetuating problems rather than generating solutions. It is imperative to tap into the expansive creative abilities bestowed upon us by God and express them effectively across diverse industries, including entertainment, healthcare, science and technology, information technology, telecommunications, and real estate. Now is the time to unleash this divine potential and allow it to flourish in every aspect of our lives.

Is there anyone still present with me today? A significant blessing is about to be bestowed upon this household, heralding the emergence of creative brilliance. I cannot hear your affirmation; you are destined to fully partake in this divine favor, and nothing in your surroundings will remain unchanged in the name of the Lord Jesus. When you step into the corporate landscape of Nigeria, it will be evident that a person of covenant has arrived, whether it be a man or a woman, as extraordinary solutions will flow from you in the name of Jesus. You will radiate creativity and innovation, transforming everything around you in the name of the Lord Jesus. Let someone declare a resounding amen. We must approach this endeavor with the fervor of a crusade; it signifies a mission we are committed to advancing. We can no longer afford to merely pay lip service to our status as the most populous nation while simultaneously becoming a burden on the global community.

Reflecting on the biblical account from 2 Chronicles 20:3, we learn about Uzziah, a young king who ascended to the throne at the tender age of sixteen. His reign lasted fifty-two years in Jerusalem, and his mother was Jecholiah. As you delve into the scriptures, you will discover that during his time as king, Uzziah achieved remarkable feats in infrastructure and creativity, arguably surpassing what Nigeria has accomplished in the past three to four decades. This young monarch undertook significant projects, including the construction of towers at the Corner Gate, the Valley Gate, and the corner buttress of the city walls, fortifying them in the process. It is astonishing to consider that thousands of years ago, this young leader was actively engaged in such transformative work. As we transition into this new year, this vision has been placed in my heart, and it serves as the foundation for our theme, emphasizing that God is eager to assist us in our endeavors.

The Scriptures indicate that divine assistance can lead to remarkable outcomes, particularly in the realms of creativity and innovation. In an era characterized by rapid change, it is imperative to avoid complacency or superficial engagement with one’s faith or business endeavors. Many enterprises are losing their competitive edge because they have become stagnant, relying on past successes while neglecting the need for continuous evolution. The philosophy I advocate is that one should not wait for a system or idea to fail before seeking improvement; rather, one should proactively challenge the status quo. By envisioning potential shortcomings in currently successful ideas, individuals can foster innovative thinking that transcends conventional boundaries. Failure to do so may result in being left behind as the world progresses.

As you embrace your identity as a child of God and recognize the blessings in your life, it is essential to cultivate a mindset that encourages unconventional thinking and trust in divine inspiration for new ideas.

Throughout history, innovation and creativity have served as vital instruments for achieving distinction and substantial profit, and in today’s information-driven age, they are more crucial than ever. If your aspirations are limited to merely achieving a comfortable lifestyle, such as owning a luxurious home or car, it may be time to reassess your environment and ambitions. In this community, we strive to make greatness accessible to all, encouraging a mindset focused on creating opportunities rather than merely enjoying existing ones.

In the context of our discussions about favor within this church, it is evident that some individuals still harbor the belief that one must solely rely on hard work to attain success. While diligent labor can indeed provide a comfortable life for one’s family, the blessings that God bestowed upon Abraham represent a different paradigm. God declared, “I will bless you, and you will be a blessing; all the nations of the earth will be blessed through you.” To reach such a level of impact, one must seek the favor of God, as it transcends mere labor. While hard work can yield sufficient resources for personal and familial needs, it is the divine favor that amplifies those efforts, enabling one to become a source of blessing to the world. This favor enhances one’s labor, allowing it to multiply in ways that exceed human understanding, thereby fulfilling God’s purpose for one’s life.

Moreover, it is crucial to recognize that having a limited vision, such as aspiring to be merely affluent within a local context, is insufficient. Many of one’s peers are engaging in significant research across various African nations, addressing critical health issues like typhoid fever and tuberculosis. They are not just content with local success; they are actively seeking to make a global impact by mobilizing substantial resources, such as funding for vaccines. To truly embody the essence of being a blessing, it is imperative to extend our aspirations beyond personal gain. For instance, if our sole objective is to ensure the healing of church members, we may miss the opportunity to engage in broader initiatives like UBOMII, which invites individuals from across Nigeria for surgical assistance. This outreach is a testament to the blessings we have received, and it illustrates that there are limits to what labor alone can achieve. The favor of God, manifested through creativity, innovation, and divine assistance, elevates one’s endeavors to a higher plane, contingent upon how one perceives and prioritizes God in their life.

Limiting one’s perception of God to a narrow understanding can hinder the fulfillment of His divine purpose in our lives and within the church. When individuals adopt a mindset that focuses solely on personal stability—such as working tirelessly for a pension and ensuring that they owe nothing to anyone—they may find themselves content at a superficial level. However, this complacency can prevent them from fully realizing the greater calling that God has for them. It is essential to recognize that God has a more profound plan for each of us, one that transcends mere survival and encourages us to embrace the fullness of His glory. The message is clear: remaining in a limited mindset will not allow us to maximize the potential that God has placed within our community.

Creativity is vital in this journey, as it requires us to think beyond conventional boundaries. If one is accustomed to operating within a specific framework, it is crucial to either seek alternative perspectives or break free from those constraints altogether. The notion that there is only one path to success is misleading; there are numerous opportunities available if we are willing to explore them. Complaining about stagnation in one’s career, for instance, may indicate a need for a shift in mindset. God may be urging individuals to expand their horizons and consider new possibilities rather than simply praying for a promotion. The future holds greater blessings than the past, and it is imperative to adopt a forward-thinking approach. Organizations and individuals who fail to innovate and think creatively risk losing their relevance in an ever-evolving world. A personal reflection shared during a recent service highlighted this point, illustrating how spontaneous inspiration can lead to significant insights that were previously unconsidered.

In a reflection on the contrasting trajectories of two prominent American companies, Blockbuster and Netflix, it is essential to recognize the pivotal moment that led to Blockbuster’s decline. On January 18, 2016, I highlighted the fact that Blockbuster once boasted 9,000 stores and employed 60,000 individuals. However, the advent of cable modems and the subsequent rise of streaming technology marked a significant turning point. Blockbuster’s failure to adapt to this technological disruption culminated in its filing for bankruptcy protection on September 23, 2010. This serves as a cautionary tale that underscores the necessity for businesses, regardless of their size, to embrace innovation and creativity.

The story of Blockbuster’s downfall is further exemplified by its missed opportunity to acquire Netflix for a mere $50 million, a sum that represented only three days of Blockbuster’s revenue. While Blockbuster maintained a vast network of physical stores, Netflix revolutionized the industry by offering DVD rentals through the mail, thereby eliminating the need for costly retail locations. This strategic innovation allowed Netflix to thrive while Blockbuster’s extensive infrastructure ultimately became a liability. The stark contrast between these two companies illustrates that complacency in the face of technological advancement can lead to obsolescence, as evidenced by the thousands of employees who lost their jobs following Blockbuster’s bankruptcy. The lesson is clear: in an ever-evolving technological landscape, businesses must remain agile and forward-thinking to avoid being left behind.

The revenue generated over a mere three-day period was substantial, yet the individuals involved remained oblivious to the potential pitfalls of their success, exuding an air of invincibility. It is crucial to communicate to your peers that the prevailing mindset should be one of proactive innovation rather than reactive measures. The philosophy I wish to instill in every business leader and senior executive is that one need not wait for a system to fail before initiating change. Instead, envision the necessary transformations mentally, and in doing so, you will invite divine inspiration and creativity into your endeavors. The ideas you currently possess are merely a fraction of what is possible; the universe is replete with untapped concepts waiting to be discovered. It is essential to avoid becoming overly attached to a single idea, as this can lead to stagnation, a fate that befell companies like Blockbuster.

Consider the trajectory of Netflix, which began as a DVD rental service and adeptly pivoted to embrace the streaming revolution. Their foresight allowed them to transition from mailing DVDs to delivering content directly to homes, and subsequently, to mobile devices, thereby enhancing accessibility for users. As of 2016, Netflix’s market valuation reached an impressive $32.9 billion, surpassing that of established networks like CBS, illustrating a significant shift away from traditional business models. This evolution underscores the necessity for organizations to adapt and innovate continuously, lest they become obsolete. The recent expansion of Netflix into international markets, including partnerships with Nigerian filmmakers, exemplifies their commitment to growth and diversification. In this rapidly changing landscape, it is imperative to remain vigilant and responsive to emerging trends, ensuring that one does not merely observe the evolution of the industry but actively participates in shaping it.

CBS stands as one of the largest television networks in North America and arguably across the globe; however, it has been eclipsed by the rise of Netflix, which operates without the traditional infrastructure of studios or newsrooms. This phenomenon is emblematic of the current era, where the most prominent taxi service, Uber, does not own a single taxi cab. As individuals who are part of a covenant with God, it is imperative that we harness the innovative and creative potential embedded within us. Failing to do so may lead us to gauge our spirituality solely by the physical size of our Bibles, ultimately resulting in a loss of relevance in a rapidly advancing world. It is essential to recognize that being blessed encompasses not only creativity and innovation but also character, holiness, and diligence.

Reflecting on missed opportunities in the business realm, it is noteworthy that Comcast opted against acquiring Disney, illustrating how easily potential advantages can be overlooked. Similarly, Yahoo’s decision to decline the chance to purchase Google years ago serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of shortsightedness; had they acted differently, the landscape of technology might have been vastly altered. Furthermore, both Yahoo and Friendster missed the opportunity to acquire Facebook, a decision that now seems unfathomable. Rather than dismiss these examples with laughter, one should consider the implications for their own life. What opportunities might you be overlooking today? May you be granted the insight to recognize and seize the potential that God has placed before you. In 2016, I found myself contemplating these ideas deeply, leading me to share my reflections on Facebook, as I sought to understand how to apply these insights in a meaningful way.

To effectively leverage your role as a mentor or pastor, it is essential to adopt a proactive approach that positions you ahead of industry trends and developments. This involves anticipating changes and preparing to respond before they occur, thereby securing what is often referred to as the first mover advantage. By being the first to act, you can seize opportunities that arise, much like a player who intercepts a ball before it reaches the goal. This strategic foresight allows you to stabilize the situation and take decisive action, ensuring that you achieve your objectives before others even begin to react. For individuals of faith, this principle is particularly significant, as it aligns with the belief in walking within the divine covenant, which empowers them to innovate and create in ways that reflect their spiritual commitments.

In examining the biblical narrative, particularly in Genesis 41, we see a clear illustration of this concept through the story of Joseph. Pharaoh, the ruler of the most powerful kingdom of the time, experienced a troubling dream that left him perplexed and anxious. It was during this moment of crisis that someone recalled Joseph, a man endowed with the gift of dream interpretation, who had been operating under the covenant established with Abraham. When summoned, Joseph not only interpreted Pharaoh’s dream but also demonstrated the creative potential bestowed upon him by God. His ability to stand before the most influential leader of his era, having emerged from prison, exemplifies the manifestation of divine creativity and innovation in the life of a covenant person. This narrative serves as a powerful reminder that those who are aligned with their faith can access unique insights and capabilities that enable them to navigate challenges and seize opportunities effectively.

In Genesis 41:16, Joseph addressed Pharaoh with a profound declaration, stating that the ability to provide an answer lies not within himself but is a divine gift from God. He emphasized that it is through the God of Israel residing in him that Pharaoh would receive a resolution to his concerns. Joseph’s assertion was clear: the wisdom and insight he possessed were not merely personal attributes but rather manifestations of a covenantal relationship with God. He positioned himself as a conduit for divine wisdom, ready to tackle the challenges presented to him, and invited Pharaoh to share his troubles, indicating his readiness to assist based on the blessings he had received.

As Pharaoh expressed his distress over troubling dreams that he believed foretold significant implications for the future of Egypt, Joseph, despite his youth, demonstrated remarkable maturity and insight. He not only interpreted the dreams but also provided actionable solutions, showcasing his growth into a role that transcended mere interpretation. Joseph understood that the value of his insights lay in their practical application; thus, he combined his God-given talent with innovative thinking to propose a strategy that would address the impending crisis. His approach serves as an inspiration, encouraging others to become solution-oriented individuals who can generate impactful ideas within their respective fields, guided by divine wisdom.

In the biblical account found in Genesis 41:33, Joseph presents a strategic plan to Pharaoh in response to his troubling dreams. He advises Pharaoh to appoint a wise and discerning individual to oversee the land of Egypt during the forthcoming years of abundance, which will be followed by a severe famine. Joseph recommends that during the seven years of plenty, one-fifth of the harvest should be collected and stored as a reserve. This food would be safeguarded in cities to ensure that the people of Egypt do not suffer during the impending famine. Pharaoh and his officials find this counsel to be prudent and beneficial, recognizing its potential to preserve the nation during a time of crisis.

Pharaoh, impressed by Joseph’s insight, acknowledges the divine inspiration behind the plan, remarking on the presence of the Spirit of God in Joseph. This recognition of divine wisdom transcends Pharaoh’s own beliefs, illustrating that even those unfamiliar with God can discern His influence in remarkable solutions. The narrative suggests that innovative ideas inspired by divine guidance can lead to significant breakthroughs, potentially garnering attention on platforms like CNN. Such moments of public acknowledgment of God’s role in success can challenge societal norms, as individuals proclaim their faith and the divine origins of their achievements, thereby inspiring others and affirming the truth of their experiences.

In the context of trading with minor assets, one might find themselves summoned to a board meeting where the atmosphere is charged with anticipation. Before presenting their insights, it is customary to propose a moment of prayer, emphasizing the importance of seeking divine guidance. Those who are unwilling to participate are free to leave, with the understanding that the meeting will resume only after the prayer has concluded. This practice is so respected that even the Chairman of the Board encourages everyone to remain seated, recognizing the necessity of spiritual intervention in the decision-making process. The Chairman, in a display of authority, may even suggest that those who choose to exit should not return until the prayer is complete, underscoring the collective acknowledgment of the need for divine wisdom in their deliberations.

Reflecting on the story of Joseph, it becomes evident that he operated with a profound understanding of the limitations of human insight. He candidly communicated to his peers that the solutions they sought were not within his grasp but rather were to be revealed by God, whom they did not know. This assertion, though delicately phrased, served to highlight the gravity of the situation and the necessity for a relationship with the divine. Furthermore, Joseph’s strategic foresight in advising the allocation of resources—setting aside 20% for seven years—demonstrated remarkable wisdom. This foresight not only ensured that Egypt had sufficient provisions but also attracted those from neighboring regions, including his own brothers, who were unaware of his presence. Joseph’s actions, driven by a desire to solve immediate problems, ultimately facilitated a reconnection with his family, illustrating how divine inspiration can yield solutions that transcend individual circumstances and impact future generations.

In both prosperous and challenging times, Egypt demonstrated remarkable foresight, avoiding the pitfalls of imprudence. It is essential to reflect on whether there are individuals among us who believe that a mere 20% allocation will never suffice until they are placed in a situation where they must adapt to living with that very percentage. This adjustment can lead to a newfound appreciation for what one has, as evidenced by the historical context of Joseph’s foresight in advising Egypt to reserve 20% of their resources. Had they consumed all their resources without restraint, they would have faced dire consequences during the famine. The wisdom in this narrative serves as a reminder that sometimes, we may not fully grasp the importance of moderation and foresight until we are compelled to live within those constraints.

Furthermore, for those feeling stagnant in their careers, there is a message of hope and transformation. God is poised to liberate you from the confines of your current situation, and the key to this liberation lies in embracing innovation and creativity. Many industries have faced downturns, leading to diminished revenues and profit margins, leaving professionals questioning their future. However, it is crucial to recognize that God has a grander vision for your endeavors, one that will unfold through innovative thinking and creative solutions. By adopting this mindset, you can navigate the challenges ahead and discover new opportunities that will not only revitalize your career but also expand your potential for success.

This morning, the narrative in Genesis 30 highlights Jacob’s challenging circumstances while working for his uncle Laban. Jacob reached a pivotal moment where he recognized the necessity of negotiating his release from a situation that had become untenable. This scenario may resonate with individuals who find themselves in similar predicaments, prompting them to reflect deeply on their circumstances, engage in prayer, and seek divine guidance. In Genesis 30:25, after the birth of Joseph, Jacob approached Laban with a request for freedom, stating his desire to return to his homeland with his wives and children, whom he felt he had rightfully earned through his diligent service. His plea underscored the urgency of his situation, as he sought to reclaim what was rightfully his.

Laban’s response revealed the complexity of their relationship, as he acknowledged the wealth he had amassed due to Jacob’s presence, attributing his prosperity to the blessings that accompanied Jacob. Despite this acknowledgment, Laban’s reluctance to part with what belonged to Jacob illustrated the challenges of dealing with individuals who are unwilling to share their gains. This situation raises pertinent questions about how to navigate relationships with those who exhibit stinginess, whether in a professional or personal context. The key lies in trusting God to reveal one’s potential and capabilities, enabling one to create solutions that compel others to recognize and compensate for one’s contributions. Laban’s eventual offer to pay Jacob for his services reflects the transformative power of recognizing one’s worth and the blessings that can arise from faith and perseverance.

Jacob expressed his concerns regarding the hard work he had dedicated to Laban, emphasizing the significant growth of Laban’s flocks and herds under his stewardship. He pointed out that prior to his arrival, Laban had very little, but through Jacob’s efforts, Laban’s wealth had increased substantially, attributing this prosperity to divine blessings. However, Jacob felt it was time to address his own needs, questioning when he could begin to provide for his family. In response to Laban’s boastful inquiry about his desired wages, Jacob requested a specific arrangement: he asked to be allowed to tend to Laban’s flocks while selecting only the speckled, spotted, and black sheep, believing that God would bless him through this agreement.

In a surprising turn of events, Laban agreed to Jacob’s proposal but deceitfully took immediate action to undermine it. That very night, Laban gathered all the speckled, spotted, and black sheep, giving them to his sons and sending them away on a three-day journey, effectively robbing Jacob of what was rightfully his. Left with only plain and white sheep, Jacob found himself in a precarious situation, realizing he had been deceived by a cunning individual. However, it was at this moment of desperation that divine inspiration struck. God began to provide Jacob with innovative ideas, enabling him to thrive even in the midst of adversity, ultimately leading to the fulfillment of his needs despite the challenges posed by Laban’s treachery.

In the narrative of Jacob’s innovative approach to animal husbandry, he employed a unique method to influence the breeding of livestock. By selecting poplar and almond trees, he meticulously cut their branches and stripped them to create specific markings. These marked branches were strategically placed in front of the animals at the watering troughs, allowing them to see the branches while they drank. This practice occurred long before the advent of modern genetic modification techniques, suggesting that Jacob’s actions were guided by a profound understanding of animal behavior and genetics, which some might attribute to divine inspiration. As the animals mated in the presence of these branches, they began to produce offspring that were speckled and spotted, indicating a remarkable shift in their genetic outcomes.

Jacob’s strategy further evolved as he differentiated between the stronger and weaker animals during mating. He ensured that the peeled branches were only presented to the robust females, thereby increasing the likelihood of producing strong offspring. This selective breeding resulted in a significant increase in the quality and quantity of his livestock, as detailed in Genesis 30:41-43. The scripture highlights that Jacob’s wealth grew substantially due to his innovative practices, which allowed him to amass large flocks of sheep, goats, and other livestock. This historical account serves as a testament to the power of creativity and divine inspiration in overcoming challenges, suggesting that, much like David confronting Goliath, individuals can leverage innovative thinking to succeed against larger, more established competitors in any field.

If you have yet to explore Malcolm Gladwell’s book “David and Goliath,” it is highly recommended for those in the business sector to acquire a copy. The narrative delves into the significance of the David and Goliath story within the context of modern industry, illustrating how today’s David can rise to challenge and ultimately overcome the Goliaths of their field. This concept resonates deeply, as it emphasizes the potential for growth and transformation, suggesting that one need not remain in a position of insignificance. By opening oneself to divine inspiration during this season, individuals can expect to be filled with innovative and creative ideas that can propel them forward.

As we enter the latter half of the year, there is a promise of new opportunities and breakthroughs.

The heavens are poised to bestow upon you a wealth of ideas, whether in product innovation, process innovation, or business model innovation. The example of Jacob, who successfully innovated a process that yielded significant results, serves as a testament to the transformative power of divine inspiration. It is asserted that no one will find themselves in a state of stagnation; rather, divine ideas will flow into your heart, potentially leading to industry-wide changes. There are unique technologies emerging from Nigeria that have the potential to make a global impact, such as the shortcode platform, which remains largely unutilized in other countries. A notable instance of this innovation is the idea shared by a young man from the community, who envisioned a technological approach to farming, which has since gained recognition and success.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to engage with him personally, offering my prayers and guidance. I emphasized the importance of having a partner in his endeavors, which led to my facilitating his connection with his first collaborator. Together, they embarked on a journey within the agricultural technology sector, which has since emerged as a leading industry in Nigeria. The young man, who is also an active member of the choir, has surrounded himself with board members who share his faith, including his founding partners. This experience exemplifies the tangible progress I witness daily; even in the past year, individuals have approached me with innovative ideas, suggesting that creativity and opportunities will proliferate in this environment, akin to popcorn popping. As these ideas emerge, they are not confined to a single area but are flourishing across various sectors and locations.
