The scripture emphasizes that claiming to love God, whom we cannot see, while failing to love our fellow human beings, whom we can see, is contradictory.
Today, there is a trend of pursuing a God who is not missing, but the absence of building according to a specific pattern and the lack of appropriate materials turns individuals into prayer warriors. This is not due to a genuine love for God, but rather as a result of the consequences of their actions. When issues arise, individuals begin to fervently seek God, despite the fact that God desires fellowship, not just to solve problems. This has led to a situation where everything seems to be upside down. It is important to note that while it is acceptable to pray for God to solve our problems, it should not be the sole reason for seeking God. This mindset has permeated into relationships, resulting in individuals who speak loudly about their faith and carry large Bibles, yet lack love in their unions. Even deacons, pastors, and ministers in churches are guilty of not investing in their homes and building a life of love through their relationships, despite spending extensive time in prayer.

Last week, I had the honor of presiding over the funeral service for my friend’s father, who I believe was around 82 or 85 years old. When I arrived at the service and requested the order of events, I noticed that there was only one scheduled eulogy, which was to be delivered by my friend, the deceased’s eldest son. I felt compelled to advise him to allow someone else to share their thoughts and memories of his father, emphasizing the importance of having multiple perspectives. After some discussion, he agreed and suggested his father’s friend, a doctor, to also deliver a eulogy.
I promptly informed one of my colleagues to announce the additional eulogist, and when the doctor took the stage, he began by addressing the audience as “friends.” He then proceeded to express the depth of his friendship with the deceased, highlighting their 62-year-long companionship and recounting various experiences and projects they had shared. As I listened to his heartfelt words, I couldn’t help but reflect on the profound impact of genuine friendship and the legacy it leaves behind.
