DESIGNED BY LOVE FOR LOVE
I express my gratitude to Jesus, who was designed by Love for Love. This message resonates with me deeply, and I feel compelled to share it with others. As we witness people around the world celebrating love this weekend and into the coming days, it is important to reflect on the true essence of love. While some may view this time as an opportunity to profit or engage in questionable activities, I urge everyone to approach it with sincerity and integrity. It is crucial to avoid falling into traps that may lead to financial troubles or other difficulties.
Love is a powerful force that transcends material gains and fleeting pleasures.
As a church, we choose to focus on the love of God that is manifested in Christ Jesus. This love serves as a reminder of our true identity and purpose. Understanding that we are designed by love and for love empowers us to tap into our divine potential. By recognizing our likeness to God, we are able to exercise dominion over our circumstances and live out our true calling.
The concept of being created in the image and likeness of God is a profound truth that applies to all humanity. While salvation enhances our ability to reflect God’s image more fully, the inherent likeness is present in every individual. By acknowledging and embracing this truth, we can live a life that is aligned with our divine nature. Let us remember that we are designed by love and for love, and let this realization guide our actions and interactions with others. Embracing our identity as bearers of God’s image empowers us to live a life of purpose and fulfillment.
It is of utmost importance for me to consistently remind myself that I was created with love and for love. This is crucial if I want to fully embrace and enjoy the world around me, as well as live in a way that fulfills God’s purpose for my life. Understanding that I was designed by love and for love means recognizing that I was made in the image of God and in His likeness. This allows me to function in a way that reflects the nature of God, particularly His attribute of love.
The Bible, in 1 John 4 verses 7-8, emphasizes the significance of love in relation to God and His creation. It states that love is of God, and those who love are born of God and know God. Conversely, those who do not love do not know God, as God is love. This highlights the importance of embodying love in order to abide in God. Verse 16 of the same chapter further reinforces this concept, stating that those who abide in love also abide in God, and vice versa. Therefore, it is essential for me to embrace love and reject hatred and bitterness, as these are contrary to the nature of God.
Recognizing that I was created in the image and likeness of God also reveals certain attributes of God’s nature. For example, the introduction of God in Genesis 1 verse 1 as Elohim, the Hebrew word for God, signifies His creative capacity. This indicates that God is a creative being, and as His creation, I am also endowed with the ability to create. Understanding and embracing these truths allows me to align myself with the nature of God and live in a way that reflects His love and creativity.
The deity we worship possesses an unparalleled ability to bring forth existence; a truly creative force. It is believed that every individual has been placed on this earth to further the act of creation that was initiated by this divine being in the book of Genesis. As a result, it can be said that creativity is an inherent trait within each person. This notion is reinforced by the biblical verse found in Genesis 1:26, where it is stated that humanity was made in the image and likeness of the Creator. Therefore, just as God is creative, so too are human beings.
Another aspect of the divine nature, as described in the Bible, is love. In the book of John 4:8, it is explicitly stated that God is love. This declaration further solidifies the connection between the divine and humanity. According to Genesis 1:26, individuals are akin to God in the sense that they are capable of embodying love. It is believed that love is not only a characteristic of God but also a fundamental aspect of human nature. This concept emphasizes the idea that individuals are designed to love and be loved, as they are products of a loving Creator.
It is crucial to remember that the essence of God is love, and this love is unconditional and unchanging. Even in moments of self-doubt or feelings of unworthiness, it is important to recognize that God’s love remains constant. The absence of qualifications or perceived shortcomings does not diminish the love that the divine being has for each individual. This unwavering love is an integral part of God’s nature and serves as a reminder that judgment has no place in the realm of divine love. Ultimately, the goal of creation is to establish an environment of acceptance and love, devoid of any form of judgment.
In the narrative found in John 8, particularly verse 15, we encounter a poignant moment where Jesus addresses a woman who has been caught in the act of adultery. This woman, surrounded by a crowd eager to judge her, is depicted as someone in search of love, albeit her understanding of love was tragically misaligned with the reality of her actions. Her pursuit of affection led her into a situation that ultimately resulted in her being condemned by societal standards. The stark contrast in the treatment of men and women in such scenarios is evident, as the man involved in the incident was not brought forth for judgment, highlighting a deeply ingrained chauvinistic attitude that persists in many cultures, including our own.
The gravity of the woman’s mistake is acknowledged, yet it is essential to recognize the even graver error committed by those who brought her before Jesus, the embodiment of love. In this moment, Jesus establishes a sanctuary free from judgment, challenging the accusers by asking if any among them is without sin. The response is telling; one by one, beginning with the oldest, the accusers drop their stones and depart. This detail suggests that those with more life experience, and thus more sins, were the first to recognize their own fallibility. The act of leaving signifies a profound moment of self-reflection and humility, as they confront their own shortcomings in the face of the woman’s plight.
Once the crowd has dispersed, Jesus turns to the woman and inquires about her accusers, to which she replies that none remain. In a remarkable display of compassion, Jesus assures her that He does not condemn her either, granting her the freedom to go forth. This interaction exemplifies the kind of environment that Jesus seeks to cultivate—a space where individuals can experience grace and forgiveness rather than condemnation. It is crucial for us to understand that we are inherently designed for connection rather than isolation, created to both receive and extend love. Jesus emphasizes that the greatest commandment is to love God wholeheartedly and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, underscoring the importance of fostering relationships built on love and understanding.
It is crucial to understand that when our capacity for love is damaged, our ability to express our divine nature is compromised.
The essence of God within us can be hindered by various situations and circumstances that we encounter in life. God’s original intention is for us to reflect His love by freely giving and receiving love. However, in this world, offenses are inevitable, as mentioned in Luke 17 verse 1.
Jesus warned his disciples about stumbling blocks, temptations, and traps that are set to lead people into sin. Offenses will come, and there will be challenges that seek to hinder us from fully embracing love and being able to receive it. People may hurt us, lie to us, or gossip about us, even within the church. It is important to be aware of the destructive nature of gossip and how it can negatively impact relationships within the family of God.
Despite the challenges and offenses that may come our way, it is essential to remember that the Holy Spirit dwells within us to empower us to love unconditionally. By relying on the presence of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome obstacles that threaten our capacity to give and receive love freely. Let us strive to cultivate a culture of love and unity, both within the church and in our natural families, to honor God and strengthen our relationships with one another.
The Holy Spirit is not given to us solely for the purpose of speaking in tongues and feeling good. Instead, the Holy Spirit is given to us to enhance our capacity to demonstrate our love nature, as stated in Romans 5 verse 5. This verse emphasizes that hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, which God has graciously given to us. Therefore, the Holy Spirit enables us to express and experience God’s love in our lives.
In today’s world, many individuals may be struggling due to past experiences that have hindered their ability to give and receive love. When people have suffered from love and have been repeatedly disappointed, they tend to build emotional barriers instead of fostering connections with others. However, God’s intention is for us to continue building bridges and fostering connections, as we were created for connection, not isolation. While it is important to protect oneself from hurt and abuse, it is not in alignment with God’s perfect will to live with emotional barriers that prevent genuine connections.
It is understandable that individuals may have experienced disappointment and pain in various aspects of their lives, such as work, family, and relationships. However, despite these challenges, the love of God has not failed in their lives. God’s desire is for individuals to build bridges and remain open to connections, rather than allowing past disappointments to lead to isolation and emotional barriers. God recognizes the struggles and disappointments that individuals may have faced, but He encourages them to continue building bridges and fostering connections with others.
The individual in question desires for you to establish connections, yet it is essential to examine what has transpired that has hindered your ability to both give and receive love without conditions. It is crucial to acknowledge whether there are specific events that have occurred in your life, as these are not mere figments of your imagination or dreams; they are tangible experiences that have impacted your emotional capacity. Recognizing these events is vital, as it allows you to confront the reality of your situation. Only by identifying and coming to terms with these experiences can you seek divine assistance in addressing them.
Many individuals lead lives that are disconnected from their emotions, often due to a multitude of past incidents that they have chosen to suppress. This suppression can manifest in various ways, such as avoiding conversations about certain topics or distancing themselves from people who evoke memories they would rather forget. For instance, a person may react strongly upon hearing a name associated with a past relationship, instinctively turning away to avoid the emotional turmoil that name brings. This behavior illustrates how deeply ingrained these memories can be, and how they can influence one’s interactions with the world around them.
It is imperative to understand that evading these memories and emotions does not equate to escaping love or the divine presence of God, who embodies love itself. The act of running away from these feelings often leads individuals to believe they are evading human connections or challenging circumstances, but in reality, they are distancing themselves from a fundamental aspect of their existence. This theme is poignantly illustrated in the biblical account of the woman at the well in John chapter 4, where her past experiences with relationships caused her to avoid certain truths. The narrative highlights that even in moments of weariness and thirst, as experienced by Jesus, there is an opportunity for healing and reconnection, urging individuals to confront their past rather than flee from it.
In the fourth verse, it is mentioned that Jesus needed to go through Samaria, so he arrived at a city called Sychar, which was near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. It is important to note that Jacob’s well was located in this city, and Jesus, feeling weary from his journey, sat by the well. This event took place around the sixth hour. The purpose of this passage is to illustrate that God never grows weary of pursuing individuals. Despite feeling tired, Jesus made sure to keep his appointment with a woman at the well, even though the disciples had gone to buy food. He could have chosen to go elsewhere, but he knew the significance of the location and waited there for the woman to arrive.
The passage serves as a reminder that God is always present, even in situations where individuals may feel that they have made too many mistakes or missed too many opportunities. Jesus’ presence at the well, despite the deep well and lack of water-drawing equipment, signifies that God is always waiting for individuals, regardless of their circumstances. This is particularly relevant for those who may feel that they have exhausted their chances and that God is no longer interested in their lives. The passage emphasizes that God’s love and pursuit of individuals never diminish, and that there is always an opportunity for redemption and renewal.
The encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman further illustrates the depth of God’s love and pursuit of individuals. Despite societal norms and expectations, Jesus engaged in a conversation with the woman, who was surprised by his request for water. Her initial reaction reflects the common belief that Jews and Samaritans did not interact, and her astonishment at Jesus’ willingness to engage with her. This encounter serves as a powerful example of God’s relentless pursuit of individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. It highlights the capacity for love and redemption, even in situations where individuals may feel that they have lost their ability to give or receive love.
In every place she went, she felt a deep hunger within her to be a source of blessing to others. Despite her feelings of emptiness, Jesus saw her in a different light. He saw her as someone deeply loved by God. When she expressed her concerns to Jesus about the depth of her struggles, questioning how they could draw water from a deep well, she was met with a response that offered hope. Jesus assured her that he could provide a different kind of water, one that would quench her thirst forever.
Many people today can relate to living their lives emotionally dependent on crutches, relying on temporary fixes to keep them going. Just like the woman in the story, they may feel stuck in a cycle of hopelessness. However, when Jesus intervened and spoke to her, he touched on a sensitive issue that had been plaguing her for years. By simply asking about her husband, Jesus uncovered the root of her struggles with love and commitment. This revelation brought a sense of clarity and truth to the woman’s heart.
The woman’s reaction to Jesus’ revelation was one of awe and recognition. She acknowledged that Jesus must have been sent by God, recognizing him as a prophet. This encounter with Jesus not only revealed the depth of her struggles but also offered her a path to healing and transformation. By addressing the woman’s deepest wounds and fears, Jesus showed her that true love and fulfillment could only come from a relationship with God. This story serves as a powerful reminder that God sees us for who we truly are and offers us a way to find lasting peace and fulfillment.
It is possible for you to communicate to someone that you are transitioning from a period of reacting to a period of revelation this season. During this time, God will unveil things to you through His Word, His messengers, and even through music. You will come to understand that God is reaching out to you, and it will become clear that you cannot continue living a life solely based on reactions. Building walls around yourself, harboring animosity, and holding onto hatred will no longer be sustainable. It is essential to make a conscious decision to let go of prejudices and preconceived notions that have been ingrained in your mind.
There are individuals who have unwritten policies deeply embedded within them. These policies dictate who they interact with and how they perceive others. For instance, some may have biases against people from specific regions or those with certain physical attributes. However, it is crucial to recognize that these biases are not in alignment with God’s love. Just like the woman who was surprised that a Jew was speaking to her, we must be open to receiving messages from unexpected sources. God is constantly pursuing us, desiring to awaken His nature of love within us and thwart any attempts to extinguish it.
If you find yourself grappling with a broken heart or any hindrance that impedes your ability to give or receive love, know that there is hope. As we commemorate the boundless love of God manifested in Christ Jesus, chains of past hurts are shattered, and barriers are crumbling down. The Holy Spirit has been dispatched to thwart the schemes of the enemy that seek to diminish the love of God within you. Regardless of the challenges you have faced, rest assured that love prevails, and you are capable of both loving and being loved. Embrace this message of love and liberation, for it is a proclamation of freedom and restoration.
