It is not uncommon for God’s vision to feel burdensome, as evidenced by the Israelites’ experience when they were tasked with scouting the Promised Land. This undertaking was rooted in the divine promise made by God to Abraham, which assured the Israelites of their liberation from Egypt and their eventual arrival in the Promised Land. The selection of twelve leaders was not merely a logistical decision; it represented a pivotal moment in the journey of the Israelites, as they were tasked with assessing the land that was to become their inheritance. However, when faced with the enormity of the challenge ahead, ten of these leaders faltered, unable to embrace the faith required to seize this opportunity.
The report from the spies reveals a stark contrast between the potential of the Promised Land and the fears that gripped the hearts of the leaders. In verse 18, they express their concerns about the strength of the inhabitants, questioning whether they are robust or feeble. This apprehension culminates in verse 33, where the spies describe their encounter with the giants, the descendants of Anak, and lament their own insignificance by stating, “we were like grasshoppers in our own sight; and so were we in their sight.” This moment illustrates a critical juncture in their journey, where the vision of what God had promised seemed overshadowed by the daunting realities they faced. The fear of the giants became a metaphor for the obstacles that can arise when pursuing a divinely ordained destiny.

In 2012, the concept of managing a billion naira project was beyond my comprehension. At that time, I could not envision myself leading an organization capable of assembling such a substantial amount for any initiative. My personal assistant, Pastor Timothy Aderemi, and I were approached by various real estate agents who responded to our call for land acquisition, specifically seeking parcels of at least 10,000 square meters. Each proposal presented to us was valued at over a billion naira, and upon reviewing these offers, I instinctively instructed him to set them aside. There was an underlying instinct within me that rejected these opportunities, as I feared the potential repercussions of engaging in such high-stakes ventures. I was determined not to return to my village in disgrace or allow anyone to undermine my standing in Lagos.

This individual may find themselves reflecting on their own circumstances, choosing to extend their hopes and aspirations to friends or fellow church members whom they perceive to be in a more favorable position. They might assert that only those particular individuals possess the capability to manage these projects effectively. In a moment of inspiration, they could even consider sending a proposal via WhatsApp to these acquaintances, believing that the opportunities presented are more aligned with their abilities. This mindset mirrors the historical context of the leaders of Israel, who, when faced with the daunting prospect of entering the Promised Land, deemed it unsuitable for themselves due to the formidable giants that inhabited it.
The narrative encourages individuals to confront their own fears and challenges, prompting them to engage with their neighbors and inquire about the giants they may be avoiding in their lives. It is a reminder that, regardless of geographical location, every nation is home to its own set of giants, and every Promised Land is accompanied by obstacles. The essential takeaway is that if God has designated a space for someone, it is theirs to claim, irrespective of the giants that may stand in the way. The responsibility lies in harnessing one’s faith to confront and overcome these challenges, reinforcing the notion that faith can empower individuals to face their fears and seize the opportunities that lie before them.

These discussions left me with a sense of optimism, as I began to envision new possibilities. It was a moment of inspiration, allowing me to return to the teachings of the Bible with renewed faith, recognizing that by aligning my actions with the word of God, I could indeed uncover a multitude of opportunities.
While I may not delve into the specifics of how the narrative unfolded due to time constraints, it is important to acknowledge that those present, both in the room and online, are likely aware of the outcome. The establishment we now occupy is fully paid for and equipped with numerous amenities, reflecting the blessings bestowed upon this church. Furthermore, we have been fortunate enough to acquire additional properties, some even larger than our current location. This illustrates the remarkable journey we have undertaken, and I firmly believe that similar successes await us globally, as evidenced by the faith that permeates our community.
I assert that these developments are not confined to our local context; they are destined to manifest across the globe. I invite those who share this vision to affirm it with an amen. The promise of expansion extends to various cities worldwide, including London, America, Canada, and the Middle East. Our faith transcends geographical boundaries, for our God is not limited to Nigeria alone; He is the sovereign Lord of the entire earth. I proclaim this message prophetically to all who are part of this service, whether in person or online, emphasizing that your faith is not merely local but possesses a global dimension. Just as God guided Abraham through diverse lands, He will undoubtedly reveal His presence and provision wherever we are called to go.
Regardless of the city or nation in which one finds themselves, it is essential to recognize that divine placement is at work in every aspect of life.
Individuals may find themselves assigned to various sectors such as financial services, education, or politics, and it is within these assignments that one can expect the fulfillment of God’s promises. The assurance of divine intervention in one’s life is paramount, and it is through faith that individuals can anticipate the realization of these promises, particularly in the name of Jesus. Faith projects, which are actions or intentions driven by faith, serve to please God while simultaneously meeting human expectations.
These faith-driven endeavors are characterized by a profound understanding of God’s will, which not only brings joy to the divine but also aligns with the aspirations of humanity. The distinction between the first Adam and Jesus, referred to as the second Adam, is significant in understanding the Christian journey. While the first Adam was described as a living being, Jesus embodies the essence of a life-giving spirit, as illustrated in the scriptures. Unlike Adam, who did not experience the process of growth, Jesus exemplified the importance of development, as noted in Luke 2:52, where He grew in wisdom and favor with both God and man. As followers of Christ, believers are encouraged to embrace a path of continuous growth in knowledge, understanding, and favor, actively releasing their faith to achieve these goals. This commitment to faith and growth sets Christians apart, empowering them to navigate the world with confidence, knowing that their faith must yield tangible results.
The singularly noteworthy action attributed to Adam was his role in naming the animals, a task that should not be misconstrued as a project of faith. Rather, it was an operational duty, as Adam did not create these creatures but merely assigned them names. This act serves as a profound illustration of God’s ability to utilize our actions and endeavors, regardless of their nature, to fulfill His divine purposes. Noah’s actions not only demonstrated his faith but also positioned him as an heir to righteousness, which is attained through faith.
As we reflect on Noah’s story, it becomes evident that there are many individuals, akin to Noah, present in various settings, including the Elevation Church. Each of these individuals may be entrusted with a significant faith project that has the potential to safeguard not only their families but also their communities. The gravity of Noah’s mission underscores the importance of individual faith in the preservation of humanity. This raises a critical question: can God truly rely on you to act in faith when the well-being of an entire generation hangs in the balance? The challenge lies in whether one can be counted upon to harness their faith for the greater good, thereby becoming a vessel for divine purpose in a time of need.
