Unusual Elevation (French Subtitles)

UNUSUAL ELEVATION

To prepare for the forthcoming manifestations of God’s glory and the unique opportunities that are anticipated in 2022, it is essential to adopt a strategic mindset. This preparation involves understanding how to effectively position oneself to receive the divine outpouring that is promised. In our discussions, we have likened God’s glory to a cloud, emphasizing the importance of learning how to fill this cloud with the right elements in our lives. The biblical reference from Ecclesiastes 11:3 highlights that when the clouds are full, they release their blessings upon the earth. Therefore, it is crucial to consider how one can actively position themselves to not only fill this cloud but also to be receptive to the blessings that will flow from it. Throughout this month, we will delve deeper into the concept of populating the cloud with appropriate materials, as it is vital to recognize that certain clouds are already brimming with potential blessings.

Moreover, positioning oneself for glory requires an understanding of the environments that foster divine influence. It is imperative to remain in spaces where the Holy Spirit is actively at work, as this is where one can experience the maximum impact of God’s glory. As we approach 2023, it is important to clarify that spiritual positioning transcends physical locations; it is about aligning oneself with God’s purpose and presence. For some, the notion of positioning may evoke thoughts of relocating to a different place, but true glory is not confined to a specific geographical area. Instead, it is a matter of cultivating a spiritual posture that invites God’s fullness into one’s life. Therefore, as we move forward, let us encourage one another to embrace this spiritual positioning, ensuring that we are ready to receive the abundant blessings that await us.

Individuals who find themselves under a negative influence in Nigeria may not necessarily escape such influences upon relocating to Europe. The key lies in how one cultivates their environment through divine alignment and understanding, as I elaborated on previously. It is essential to engage in a covenant relationship that fosters growth and transformation. Are you still with me? For some of you, it is crucial to be mindful of how you position yourself for success, particularly concerning the company you keep. When the topic of friendship or relationships arises, many may instinctively look away, aware that they have been associating with individuals who drain their potential and aspirations. These are the metaphorical caterpillars and cankerworms that consume one’s glory.

Certain individuals possess the ability to extinguish your passion, regardless of the fervor you bring into the interaction. Before long, you may find yourself adopting their mindset and diminishing your own enthusiasm. This year, it is imperative to surround yourself with those who will ignite your passion rather than dampen it. Seek out companions who will fuel your zeal for God, divine achievements, and the fulfillment of your covenant promises. There are individuals with whom sharing your dreams may feel futile, as their limited perspective can stifle your aspirations. As articulated in 2 Corinthians 3:18 from The Passion Translation, we are invited to draw near to Him with unveiled faces, allowing us to reflect the Lord’s glory like mirrors. This transformation is contingent upon the quality of our associations and the clarity of our vision.

The manner in which a mirror is positioned can significantly influence its ability to reflect sunlight and other forms of light. Photographers often utilize various reflective surfaces, strategically placing them to enhance their images. This technique is akin to how one must approach the reflection of divine glory; it requires intentionality and careful positioning. Just as photographers are equipped with an array of reflective tools, individuals must also cultivate their lives in a way that allows them to manifest the glory of God. This process is not haphazard; it demands a conscious effort to align oneself with divine principles. The Bible emphasizes that this transformation begins with the removal of the veil that obscures our vision, allowing us to reflect God’s glory with unveiled faces. As we engage in this spiritual journey, we are promised a continual transformation into His likeness, moving from one level of glory to another, facilitated by the Spirit of the Lord.

Furthermore, it is essential to actively prepare for this glory, much like one would prepare for a change in weather. This preparation involves a proactive approach to spiritual growth and development, ensuring that we are ready to receive and reflect God’s glory in our lives. The commitment to reflect divine glory should be a declaration made with conviction, as it influences not only our personal lives but also the lives of those around us. When others observe the fruits of our labor and the quality of our character, their inquiries about our success can lead to profound opportunities for witness. It is crucial to foster an environment where the glory of God is evident in our actions, relationships, and endeavors. As we declare our intention to reflect God’s glory in 2023, we position ourselves to be vessels of His light, impacting our families and communities in meaningful ways.

Currently, the western regions are experiencing winter, characterized by cold temperatures and inclement weather, while here in Lagos, Nigeria, we are not equipped for such conditions due to the stark contrast in climate. It is indeed true that individuals in the West typically do not venture out to places like church without appropriate winter attire, which includes coats, hats, and gloves, as neglecting to dress adequately can lead to serious consequences such as frostbite. A recent incident in Buffalo, New York, highlighted the severity of winter storms when a significant snowstorm blanketed the area, rendering many vehicles immobile. This situation was brought to light through various media outlets, including a commendable act by a local barber who utilized social media to offer refuge to those stranded in their cars. His establishment became a sanctuary for approximately 35 to 40 individuals, some of whom were suffering from frostbite, ultimately saving lives during a perilous time when many were trapped in their vehicles.

The response to such extreme weather conditions varies significantly across different cities in the United States, as some locations are better equipped to handle severe winter storms than others. For instance, cities like Chicago, known for their frequent snowfalls, have developed robust systems to manage adverse weather, ensuring that residents are prepared for the challenges that winter brings. In contrast, areas that do not regularly experience such conditions may struggle to respond effectively when faced with unexpected snowstorms. This disparity in preparedness serves as a metaphor for the necessity of being emotionally and spiritually equipped for the challenges that life presents.

Just as one must adapt their clothing and mindset to the weather, so too must individuals cultivate a readiness for the glory that awaits them in their personal and spiritual journeys.

When considering one’s appearance and attire, it is essential to recognize that this encompasses not only the physical aspects of dressing but also one’s spiritual demeanor and outlook. There exists a distinction between how an individual is perceived in the spiritual realm compared to their physical presence. This concept is illustrated in the biblical account found in the book of Joshua, specifically in chapter 3, verse 5, where Joshua instructs the people to sanctify themselves in anticipation of the Lord’s wonders. This directive implies that to receive the glory of God, one must engage in a process of purification, which includes shedding old, unclean garments. The act of preparing for divine glory necessitates a conscious effort to remove the impurities that may hinder spiritual elevation.

Furthermore, the significance of spiritual attire is further emphasized in Zechariah chapter 3, verses 1 to 5, where the high priest Joshua is depicted standing before the angel of the Lord, with Satan positioned at his right side to oppose him. This narrative highlights the notion that certain garments can attract negative spiritual influences, while others can draw forth divine favor. In this context, Joshua is described as wearing filthy garments, which explains the presence of opposition from Satan. However, the Lord intervenes, commanding the removal of these filthy garments and promising to clothe Joshua in rich robes, symbolizing purity and divine blessing. This transformative act serves as a powerful reminder that in the year 2023, individuals can also expect to be adorned with spiritual richness, leaving behind the old and embracing the new, thereby allowing the glory of God to manifest in their lives.

When divine pronouncements regarding glory, transformation, and the emergence of new circumstances in one’s life are made, it is essential to recognize that such changes do not occur automatically. The manner in which one prepares for these changes, particularly through the symbolic act of donning a new garment, holds significant importance. In the biblical context, as illustrated in verse 5, the directive was given to place a clean turban upon the head of the individual, followed by the dressing in fresh attire, while the angel of the Lord stood by. This imagery serves as a powerful reminder of the necessity for spiritual readiness and purification. As we enter 2023, it is imperative to seek divine assistance and to embrace the transformative power of God, which requires shedding the burdens of the past, represented by the filthy garments that hinder one’s spiritual progress.

The act of removing these soiled garments is not merely a physical endeavor but a profound spiritual necessity. The scripture advises believers to lay aside every weight and sin that may impede their journey, urging them to run with perseverance the race set before them, with their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith. As we embark on this new year, it is crucial to reflect on our lives and recognize that the presence of unclean garments can tarnish the glory of God and invite negativity into our lives. The adversary, represented by Satan, often capitalizes on these spiritual impurities, seeking to disrupt our peace and prosperity. Therefore, it is vital to cleanse oneself of these burdens to prevent any malevolent influences from taking root. May this year be marked by a commitment to spiritual renewal and a steadfast pursuit of divine glory, ensuring that we remain free from the entanglements that seek to undermine our faith and purpose.

It is essential to prepare for the manifestation of glory, as evidenced by the historical account of Israel. When glory descended upon the nation, God responded with severity towards those who showed contempt for it through their actions. This principle is illustrated in the narrative found in Joshua chapter 7, which recounts the story of Achan. Despite Israel’s previous triumph over Jericho, they faced an unexpected defeat against Ai, a relatively insignificant city. The Israelites were bewildered by this turn of events, questioning how they could have fallen to such a minor adversary. God revealed to them that there was sin within their ranks, specifically linked to Achan’s actions. In verse 21, Achan confessed that he had coveted a beautiful Babylonian garment, weighing fifty shekels, and had hidden it along with silver beneath his tent. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of transgressing divine commandments.

As we embark on this new year, it is crucial to recognize that this is a time for renewal and transformation. The year ahead is not one in which we should engage in taking what does not rightfully belong to us, as such actions can hinder the flow of glory in our lives. The biblical account emphasizes that God has previously overlooked the ignorance of the past, but now calls for accountability. Achan’s choice to seize the accursed items, despite clear instructions to destroy everything associated with Babylon, led to dire repercussions for the entire nation. Their defeat at Ai was a direct result of Achan’s sin, which tainted the collective spirit of Israel. As we reflect on these lessons, may we seek deliverance from any form of corruption and strive to align ourselves with the principles that invite divine glory into our lives.

The reaction to Achan’s actions, which led to the stoning of him and his entire family, followed by the destruction of their possessions, is a profound illustration of the consequences of sin. This incident highlights a disturbing loss of self-awareness, as Achan chose to covet a Babylonian garment, an item that was easily recognizable and forbidden. The gravity of this choice is often overlooked, yet it serves as a critical lesson in understanding the nature of temptation and the spiritual implications of succumbing to it. The garment, a symbol of wealth and status, was not merely an object; it represented a deeper moral failing that can lead individuals to act against their own best interests and the well-being of their community.

In a contemporary context, one can draw parallels to the behavior of individuals who, driven by insatiable greed, acquire possessions they neither need nor will ever use. This mindset is not merely a personal failing but reflects a pervasive spirit of covetousness that can consume individuals, leading them to make irrational decisions. The example of Achan serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us that the allure of materialism can cloud judgment and lead to dire consequences. As we reflect on these lessons, it is essential to encourage one another to reject unclean garments—both literal and metaphorical—and to prepare ourselves for a life of glory that is free from the burdens of sin and greed.

Abandon all that is impure in the name of the Lord Jesus; let us all proclaim a resounding amen. Today, I urge you to pray for glory. Can you hear me? Turn to your neighbor and declare that it is time to pray for glory. This is a moment to engage in prayer that serves as a protective covering, guiding us toward the fulfillment of prophecies that may seem delayed. We must grasp these prophecies firmly, using them as instruments to wage a righteous battle.

Through prayer, we cultivate abundance and prepare ourselves for the blessings that are to come.

I want to challenge each one of you, as starting this Wednesday, our church, as a global community, will embark on a 22-day prayer journey. If you are a fully capable adult, with vitality coursing through your veins, you possess the energy to seek God. Look at your neighbor and remind them that it is indeed time to pray for glory; glory be to Jesus.

Elijah, in his prophetic insight, instructed Ahab to eat and drink, for he perceived the imminent arrival of rain. He understood the spiritual dynamics at play, which Ahab did not. While Ahab indulged in his meal, Elijah ascended to the summit of Mount Carmel, where he humbly bowed down, placing his face between his knees in fervent prayer. He then instructed his servant to ascend and look toward the sea. The servant returned with the report of nothingness, yet Elijah persisted, sending him back seven times to check again. This persistence in prayer exemplifies the faith and determination required to witness the manifestation of God’s promises. Elijah’s actions remind us that while some may be unaware of the spiritual processes involved, those who are attuned to God’s voice must remain steadfast in prayer, awaiting the fulfillment of His word.

Only the divine knows the true duration of the interval between the seven instances, as it is merely speculative to assume that these particular prayers alone could halt a nationwide famine. It is essential to remember that this famine lasted for three and a half years. The book of James highlights that Elijah was a man of similar passions as ourselves; he prayed for rain, which was initially withheld, and subsequently prayed for its return. It is time for individuals to seek the restoration of blessings in their lives through prayer. There are those among us who have directed blame towards various individuals, from spouses and siblings to friends and even political figures, including those who have not yet been elected. This tendency to blame others can become a habitual response, yet Elijah chose a different path. He recognized the importance of taking action to invoke God’s glory and bring forth rain in his life.

I challenge each person to assume responsibility for inviting abundance into their lives. The principle articulated in Ecclesiastes 11:3 states that when the clouds are full, they will inevitably release their rain upon the earth. In 2023, there is a promise of abundant blessings for those who seek them earnestly. However, this requires a commitment to prayer and a desire to draw down God’s glory. As we reflect on Isaiah 10:12, the Amplified Translation emphasizes the importance of righteousness and the need to cultivate our spiritual lives. It urges us to diligently seek the Lord and yearn for His blessings until He bestows upon us the rain of righteousness and His gifts.
